Drizzle of love

Everyone was busy that day. We never knew Steve had these many friends in town. We had to treat everyone. Maria had good cooking skills, still she struggled to cook and clean everything. I avoided Steve's call, it was the seventh time he was introducing me to a friend.

I got out through the back door and walked towards our home. A car passed me and stopped at our yard. I walked faster to reach home. While I reached, I found Sandra in the yard. I walked faster and embraced her, she looked prettier.

I said. "You look fantastic. You must be really happy there, with Sam".

Sandra smiled. "Anna, I missed you so much. How many times I called you there? You didn't miss me, right?"

"I really missed you, I will come there, before I leave home again".

"So you fixed it right? That PhD program".

"Almost". I said. We moved towards our room and Sandra sat on the bed and I joined her.

"Fine, after a few days we will have no control on you, right?"

"Who said so? I just want to study and I love my college, you know that. After you left, I felt lonely. And my friends are getting married, and leaving here too. So why should I stay here." I said.

"Is mom and dad okay with you going?" Sandra asked.

"You know them, even if they are not, they never say it. I would like to buy a house, somewhere else, like Sara, and live with mom and dad there. I feel depressed and lonely if I stayed here for long".

"Once you loved this place, both of us loved here. If a break up made you to hate this place, it might have been terrible".

"Yes, it was terrible". I replied. Sandra sighed.

"Hey, you came finally". Steve entered the room. Sandra and Steve embraced each other.

"Even for one day you can't miss your husband". Steve joked.

"You know his condition Steve, we thought we will attend your reception in Everland".

"You should come there, with Sam. How is he?"

"Good, better than ever". Sandra smiled.

"Anna, get ready now. We don't have time. I will talk with your sister while you get ready". Steve turned to me.

"Steve, promise me you won't make me talk to another friend of yours. You know, it's awful. I am not planning to date any of them".

"Who said you have to? I just thought you need new friends now, as your old ones are leaving".

"I am leaving here too. I will find my friends, you take care of Lucy".

"Anna is really irritated Steve, your friends are, that bad?" Sandra mocked him.

"What? You never saw them, your best friend is marrying one of them, so don't mock my friends". He told me.

Sandra went to Steve's, while I dressed. Steve brought us dresses already, and I got a light green laced gown. Sandra was still at Steve's. I walked to Lucy's home.

Sara was only there. Lucy has dressed. She looked pretty. A mixture of happiness and fear was in her eyes. Lucy never left this estate. The farthest place she went from home was the town near us. She never saw a city in her entire life. So it is normal to be nervous, l thought.

Rina stayed away from us. Some neighbours visited the house. Rina avoided them. Lucy's dad treated them nicely. It was the first time I saw him smiling. He was not even drunk that day.
