We walked together, holding each others arm. We walked through mountains, forest, waterfalls. It was not enough for us. We never got enough.
Days passed. I started doing the PhD in Everland. I stayed at Steve's apartment. Abram again left to complete his studies. Abram was the reason why I selected Everland for my studies, I hoped to see him, once he returned. I visited Sam and Sandra once in a while. Sam started drawing again and it got better day by day. But he still used his clutches to walk.
I asked about my drawing, which he promised to give me in my childhood, when their story started.
"Abram has it. I forgot to get it back from him. Both of you, were kids then. He said he will return it once I come back. Then everything happened. Recently, I have seen him staring at the picture, when I asked about it, he denied it. Just check his room".
Sandra showed me his room. It was the biggest bedroom I have ever been. It was neat and tidy. Abram was never been like this. The servants must have cleaned the room. I remembered his tree house. This room was five times bigger than that house. I opened drawers and checked his shelf, the drawing was not there. Abram phoned me while I was checking his cupboard.
"Abram, you know where I am?".
"I called Sam, he told me, so how is your future bedroom?"
"We can talk about it, once you finish your studies".
"So you can get into my room, and I should not ask about that? Is it fair?"
"I don't want to see your room, I was looking for my drawing".
"So you came to my room only for that?"
"Abram, stop this, tell me where it is."
"I have it with me in my hands. I am looking at it now".
"What? Are you crazy? I was eleven then".
"Your eyes are still the same, those big, black eyes".
"I sent you hundreds of pictures, you still look at my childhood picture, which is a drawing".
"Your eyes have more life in this than all your photos".
"No one can argue with you".
"I will call you later, open those windows, the site is good". He cut the call and I opened the window as he said. The city is beautiful with orange lights flashing here and there and the rush of vehicles felt like music. I sat in the window pane, watching the glowing city, and sat there till Sandra called me for dinner.
Lisa married Kevin and shifted to the neighbouring apartment. Lucy was busy with her studies. Steve spends most of the time in hotel with Kevin, and they together managed the hotel.
Their new hotel was under construction, in Deil city, and they were busy most of the time.Steve teased me whenever he found me, calling Abram. "How is your research going on?" He asked and Lucy laughed, even at his silly jokes.
When I teased her back. She said. "I heard only little jokes in my life, and I will laugh out aloud for most of them".
Sara was busy, and we had little time to talk. Her parents settled in their new house in Everland, they came alone, Sara controlled her expenses after her parents left there, and she repaid most of her debt. Ryan supported her all the time, and her job also went well.
A year later, Abram returned, he met me on the evening itself, after I left college. It was a surprise, I was about to go home as there were only two days remaining for Christmas. Abram was ready to take me home. I didn't refuse him. We ride all the way from Everland to home. Abram never stopped talking, he was very excited to visit the village again. I listened to him, he never stopped, it was a dream for me, to go together like that.
