I didn't know what to say. I knew I liked Flynn but this was too sudden. I could say no but he went through the trouble for this.

"I - I.........I'm.....err......."

I didn't know what to say. I was confused. The guests were anxious to hear my answer. My delay was not helping things.

"I mean -I, no...... yes."

"What?"

"Yes! I'll marry you Flynn."

The guests cheered. A butler brought him a plate I presumed to be food. Well it wasn't. The butler removed the covering and exposed the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.

"Thank you Rosette. I promise to make you happy."

He slipped the ring on my finger and kissed it. Then he kissed me on the lips. The guests cheered louder. There was another round of applause as he took me to see took me along to the small stage they had set.

"Thank you ladies and gentlemen for sparing me some time. I hope you enjoy your
evening, great music and great food coming your way."
When we finally sat down I asked him why he did that.

"Flynn, what was the meaning of all this?"

"Meaning of what?"

"Don't act as if you don't know. I never agreed to date you, not to talk of marrying you. I'm just nineteen! I work as a cook! I ain't even got a degree!"

"Hey, will you calm down?"

"You knew I couldn't say no right?"

"That's one and secondly, Rosette I'm rich. Your education is already covered. You are quitting that job of yours too."

"I don't want your money."

"Stop being proud Rosette. Look inside my eyes and tell me you don't love me."

"I'm not talking love here."

"Then why did you say yes?"

"Look here Flynn, I'm not ready for marriage. I have a lot ahead. You know what, let's
spend more time together, let's know each other better. Okay let's date."

"Who said I was going to marry you now? I'll marry you after University. I just needed you to agree."

"Seriously?"

"Yes please."

"And this was your only option?"

"You are very stubborn. There was no other way you would say yes. Now forget about that and enjoy your food."

Food had already been served for us.

"I don't remember asking for anything."

"Well, when you were busily questioning me I did. You can't tell me you ain't hungry."

I smiled. He knew I was.
He smiled back.

"I love you."
