"Are you gonna be okay kiddo?" Her dad leaned over the truck's window, his worried look on the troubled looking teenager standing next to the truck, her nervous brown eyes glued on the fancy building in front of them.
"Y-yeah" She stuttered, noding a few times before looking back at her dad. A wry smile appearing in her lips.
She snickered at a thought "I'll call you if I punch someone" She put her fist in her hand. Doug scoffed and turned on the engine.
"Not funny Casey".
"Hey! you know I'm kidding, I can be decent" She said the word gagging. That put a smile on the man's face.
"Sure you can. Ok I have to go to work. See you at home honey. Good luck".
"Bye" Casey muttered, watching her dad leaving her in that rich people cradle. "I'll be lucky my ass" She sighted puting both hands inside her blue navy jacket.
Her phone vibrated in her right hand. A little smile appearing on her face when she read the screen.
'You got this!❤'
Evan📯
If he only knew the pressure she was feeling. This had to work. It was her first chance to become proffesional, get a scholarship in one of those fancy colleges and follow her dreams. But most importantly: it was the first time she was alone. This new independence felt like a taste of the freedom she'd been missing as a teenager.
If only Evan understood.
They'd been dating for a year now. And he was great, Casey was surprised when he showed interested in her. The guy was cute, sweet, caring, and supportive, they had a cool dinamic and she felt attracted to him. In that aspect, she was kinda lucky.
But sometimes it felt...too easy. And it wasn't a bad thing, it was just like...in no aspect her life was easy, so when a good relationship fell on her lap she couldn't help but wonder if it was gonna last.
And that thought got stucked in her mind, only to grow when she thought about the future. Because Evan was good, yes...but he also liked easy stuff, and he liked this goddamn town. While Casey dreamt about flying away to explore her chances, he was contempt with staying near his sister and mother.
The guy had a great heart and she knew she loved him...but it was painfully obvious how was it going to end.
She shaked her head, stupefied by the nature of her thoughts "God, what's wrong with me?" She growled, starting to walk towards her new school.
Sometimes she wonders if she's a bad person for thinking like that. Sometimes she told herself she was only an anxious sixteen year old, so why thinking so ahead?
This was definitely not the time. She still had to find the girl who was supposed to show her around. Izzie, right?
Casey waited right near the entry. She was nervous to meet her new track captain, a big part of her hoped to make a friend before the bell ringed, maybe this day wouldn't suck so badly, and she could have someone to have lunch with.
Yeah, perhaps she and Izzie could get alone... but only if she doesn't turns to be a preppy bitch that is.
She didn't had to look for her too long. She felt a slight tap on her shoulder that made her jump and turn maybe too fast. Her anxiety peaked and almost started apologizing when-
"Hi" Casey felt herself blushing and her mouth opened and closed a few times.
Okey, so...she was cute?
