Chapter 15

"Well now I feel terrible." I said, putting my head in my hands, "You could have been married and have children by now, but you had to put your life on hold for me!". I have never felt so guilty in my entire life. 

"No, Nora, honey! Don't ever feel bad about this!" she said, quickly, "I wouldn't go back in time and change a thing about my life! Nora, you are my best friend and a daughter to me! When you came into the world, my sister had just died, along with one of the nicest men I have ever met in my entire life! The fact that both of them asked me, a total ditz, to take care of their most precious possessions is astonitioning. Nora, I would happily go back in time and give up my life for yours again. Don't ever forget that!". She gave me a warm smile and pulled me in for a hug. "I love you, Nor.".

"I love you too, Reese." I said. Just then our waitress, Teresa, came with our usuals and we began to eat. "So, does this mean I won't ever get to spend hundreds of dollars on an overprice white dress like most bridezillas?" I asked after a long awkward silence.

"Well, that all depends on what you and Aaron want to do. To be honest, I don't think any of them have ever been to a wedding before." My Aunt said, digging in to her pasta.

"Never? like, never never?" I said, "Am I like the only human mate ever?".

"Yes, but technically you still are a wolf." she said, "Your werewolf gene is masked by magic, so technically you are not fully human.".

"Well human or not, I still want to have a wedding and a honeymoon." I said seriously. If I can't go away to my dream college, then I am absolutely having my dream wedding.

"Well I don't think the wedding will be a problem," she said, "but as far as a honeymoon goes I don't think you'll have one that is longer than three days. Aaron will be the alpha, meaning that he can't leave the pack for too long.".

"So we can't go on vacation or anything?" I asked. 

"No no no! Of course you guys still can! I'm just saying that Aaron can't be gone long." my aunt said, "Aaron will be the new king, if you will, of the pack. He needs to be there in case of an attack and so on. But judging by how much he loves you, I guarantee that he would do anything he can to make you happy. If you want to go away for a week, I guarantee you that he would find a way to make it happen. He's a good guy and he'll treat you right.".  She looked down at her watch and her eyes widened. "Shit! It's 7:30! We have to leave soon so we can get home! You still haven't opened these presents for you and I want to see your reaction! We have an hour and half drive home." She started to get her purse and coat on.

"We can just heat up our food when we got home." I said, putting my coat on as well. Teresa came over and grabbed our plates to put them in boxes. As soon as she brought them back, we grabbed them, through the money on the table, and ran out the car. I leaned back in my seat and buckled in, preparing for the long drive a head. "So when can I visit you?".

"Whenever you like while I'm here." my Aunt said, "Whenever you want to visit call my cell and I'll be home be as fast as I can.". I probably will end up calling her as soon as she get in her car. I can't imagine a morning without burnt pancakes and coffee with heavy cream and a mounted of sugar. I grew up in that house and now I'm just expected to leave? I mean, it's not like there was a wedding that gave me time to process all of this. I only had a week and that really isn't enough. On the other hand, the idea of sharing a room with Aaron has me feeling pretty anxious. I don't believe in sex before marriage, but there is no rule in my book against sleeping in the same bed.

"You're cheeks are getting red." my Aunt said, interrupting my thoughts, "What are you think about that has made you blush cherry red?". I couldn't see my face, but I'm pretty sure the blush just got ten times redder.
