I opened my eyes to see that I was in my room. I was confused at first, but then everything came rushing back like a race car. I sat up quickly, but  I got a headache and layed back down. When I did, I noticed 4 pairs of eyes on me. One of them was my Aunt who sat nervously next to me.

“Nora! Thank goodness you’re awake!” she said, brushing the hairs out of my face. I looked around the room and saw Aaron, who sat on the edge of my bed, with an older man next to him. Near my door way was a women, but I didn’t who she was. I looked at Aaron again and noticed that he wasn’t wearing the same shirt as last night. I started to get a panic attack again and moved close towards my headboard to put distance away from me and him.

“Nora, calm down! You’re getting yourself worked up again. You need to relax!” My Aunt instructed. She held my face so that I was looking at her, but I could still see Aaron. He looked sad and had a painful expression in his eyes. But all I could think about was the wolf he turned into last night. And come to think of it, it was the exact replica of my wolf.

“W-What happened?” I asked, close to tears. My Aunt sighed and slid next to me on my bed.

“Nora, I think it’s time we explained a few things. Nora, do not speak when we talk. Just listen and only when I am finished, can you talk. Okay?” my Aunt said, her face now became expressionless. I nodded, still not understanding what she meant. “Come on, Nora. Let’s go into the dining room so it’s easier for everyone to be in the conversation.”. My Aunt nodded to the mystery man behind Aaron and then led everyone to the dining room. The man sat at the head of the table with my Aunt and Aaron on each side of him. The women from earlier, who was also new to me, walked to the door.

“If it is alright with you, Mr. Taylor, I’ll be heading home now.” stated the woman. The man nodded and she left. That sentence alone told me who the man was. He was Aaron’s father. I sat down quietly at the head of the table. Our table only sat four.

“Nora, do you remember those stories that I used to tell you? You know, when you were little?” my Aunt asked. I looked down at my hands, then nodded “yes”. “You need to look at me, Nora.” my aunt ordered. I looked up at her and she gave me a small smile.

“I remember the ones about the woods, if that’s what you mean. You told me not to go into the woods because there were bad creatures in there.” I said, recalling all the stories that she told me. She told me there were men that would turn into monsters and eat me. It sounds silly, but as a child that’s scary as hell.

“Well they’re true, hon. But not all of them are bad though. You see, that creature you saw last night was a rogue. A rogue werewolf to be correct.” my Aunt said nervously but sincere. But to me, it all sounded like a bad joke. “Nora, werewolves are real. I know it seems hard to believe, but it is true. We all are werewolves.”. She gestured to the three of them.

“Y-you’re lying. Th-this is some kind of crazy joke and to be honest it’s not funny.” I said to her nervously. I knew Aaron turned into wolf, but I just assumed he was some kind of lab freak or experiment. I got up and started to back away. This was crazy.

“Nora, sit down and listen.” ordered Aaron’s Father. His voice was raised slightly, but it was cold enough to stopped global warming. Everyone around the table, even my Aunt, bowed their heads when he spoke and I hesitantly walked back to my seat.

“Nora, listen to me. Werewolves are real, think about it! Aaron turned into a wolf! How can you not believe this?” My Aunt said, flabbergasted. I shook my head, trying to forget this, as if it was some crazy dream. This all sounded crazy, but I had seen it with my own eyes.
