If Mew had to describe how his relationship progressed with Gulf after that summer kiss they shared at the workshop, it would have to be Cruel Summer, by Taylor Swift.
It was bittersweet. Something he shouldn't have, but badly wanted.
It threatened everything he took time to build.
It was his Kryptonite.
...
But at the same time, it was also everything he ever needed.
It made him love again. Believe in himself again.
It brought him to light again.
...
Of course it was a bumpy road at first. But he expected that. He knew Gulf wasn't going to be easy. This stubborn, short -tempered boy that seems to not care much about his surroundings, always kept him on his toes. Gulf is someone that may seem hard on the outside but is actually soft inside. He didn't like to talk much so Mew really had to pull back multiple times just so he could understand the boy. Something he wasn't used to doing in his life.
Mew has always been the type of person to just do whatever he wanted to do at that moment and not care about the effects or the consequences. He always need to express himself. What he wants, he needs to get now. He was impatient and short-tempered. Didn't like compromising and always wanted to be in the lead. And he did not like the word, "No."
But with Gulf, he had to learn. He learned to be patient, suppress his temper, especially when his nong says he does not like it when people raise their voice at him, and most importantly, he learned to trust again and to love wholeheartedly without asking for anything in return. He learned all that from this boy who was 7 years his junior. Barely in his 20's but someone that is emotionally mature and intelligent. Mature enough to handle someone like Mew.
With that being said, this was really a cruel summer for Mew. An event that was unexpected and a surprise. A curse or a blessing. Some may say a coincidence, whereas others may argue it's fate.
It was the cruel summer he met Gulf.
...
Fever dream high
In the quiet of the night
You know that I caught it (oh yeah, you're right, I want it)From the moment Mew laid eyes on Gulf, he immediately knew he had to go through that heartbreak again. He was attracted to him, there was no denying it.
He told himself to keep it on the low. He already made a fool of himself once and it took him so much just to get through it. He refused to face it again.
So instead, he would put back up his walls, strengthen it some more, and wait. Wait and see how this will eventually end. Satisfy his attraction for the boy yet at the same time, raising the protection on his heart.
He will put himself first, this time.
Bad, bad boys
Shiny toy with a price
You know that I bought it (oh yeah, you're right, I want it)He knew Gulf was gonna be difficult. He could tell right from the first time he met him.
The boy didn't talk much. Usually doesn't care or was never aware whenever he has upset someone. He was straightforward and has always said whatever was on his mind. No filter, no sugarcoats.
