When Gulf met Mew, he didn't wanna look at anything else but him.
~.~
Daylight.. He finally saw it with Mew. It was pleasantly unexpected. Something he didn't know he badly needed in his life.
Gulf thought he was fine just by being alone. Always keeping to himself, doing things by himself. He didn't realize he was lonely. It never even crossed his mind. Not at all. He didn't realize that just like everyone else, he needed someone.
Then came one cruel summer and he learned that things were so much better when you have someone to share it with. To have that person to talk to whenever you're happy, sad, angry, or lonely. Someone to protect you and hold your hand during the happiest and toughest moments of your life.
And when he found that person, things got brighter and in turn, he got better as a person. He started talking to people more, expressed himself more, and became more assertive in life.
All because of one man. The person who held his hand this whole time. Never letting go. Always remaining by his side. His protector, his friend, his mentor.
Everything changed as he came into his life. Taking a hold of his heart, there was nothing he could do.
Because now, Gulf only sees Daylight.

My love was as cruel as the cities I lived in
Everyone looked worse in the light
There are so many lines that I've crossed, unforgiven
I'll tell you truth, but never, "Goodbye"From a young age, Gulf was aware that people aren't always as they seem. They can be nice to you in your face, and then talk badly about you as soon as you turn your back on them. Some are only nice when they want something from you. He has witnessed this happening multiple times, to his peers and even with older family members.
Everyone looked worse in the light.
Therefore he decided to be different. He decided not to be like one of those people. He vowed to always be honest and to show people exactly what he feels about them. Almost to a fault.
People may call him too blunt, or someone that has no filter. Someone who doesn't take other people's feelings into consideration. But that's just how he is. It was never his intention to hurt others. He just wanted to be honest, but not that many people appreciate it. They only wanted to hear the good, not the bad.
He thought he would always be telling the truth. He didn't expect that one circumstance could become an exemption to this rule of his.
If it involved saying "Goodbye" to him, then he would rather swallow the truth and lie.
I don't wanna look at anything else now that I saw you
I don't wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you
I've been sleepin' so long in a twenty-year dark night
And now I see daylight, I only see daylightGulf doesn't remember when exactly it started. Was it when Mew surprised him on his birthday? When they went to celebrate New Year's Day together? Or maybe it was even before that?
When did he start looking at Mew like he was his everything? And when did he start invading his everyday thoughts?
He made it seem like Gulf lived his whole life in a dark night before he finally came into his life. He made him see things differently, feel things he has never felt before.
