Chapter 8

I thought after that, everything will be ok. But I guess not. Sana unnie kept informing me that Mina is not attending her classes. It's been 3 weeks since she got drunk. And it's been 3 weeks since our friends keep on convincing me to talk to Mina.

Today, I didn't went to school. Because I found out that Mina is absent again. I can't let her ruin her studies just like that. So I decided to talk to her. And clear everything.

As I arrived in their house. I knocked. But no one answered. I tried to open the door and as expected. It wasn't locked.

"Mina? Where are you?"

I tried calling her name. But no one is answering. So I went inside and proceed in front of her bedroom's door. I knocked and she finally respond.

"I'm here. Come inside."

Her voice is not the same anymore. It's cold and lifeless.

"How are you? Sana and Momo unnie told me that you're not attending your classes." I asked in a low tone.

She didn't answer, she's just looking at me. She's not the Mina I know anymore. Is this my fault? I just chose what's best for us. Why does she have to act like this? It's not like I cheated on her.

"Aren't you coming back, Chaeng? Do you really want to end everything?"

Her question makes me stop. I don't know what to answer. I want to stick to my decision. But seeing her like this, making it hard for me. I really don't understand why she's like this.

"What are you doing to youself? You still have Bambam, Mina. Stop making this hard to both of us."

"Just come back to me, please. I want to end my relationship with Bam, but he's not accepting it. I'm being cold to him, but he don't want to give up." And now, she's crying again. "Accept me again, Chaeng. I'm still waiting."

I can't speak. I'm stuck. I can't think. I want to leave, but I can't move. I'm afraid that I will break my own decision.

"Just give me more time, Mina. For now, fix yourself. Focus on studying. Do this for me. For our dream. And if you do what I say, maybe. Just maybe, I'll come back."

That's all I can say for now. I don't want to make a promise. I don't want to give her my words.

She stood up and get something inside her bag. As she came back, she handed me the notebook.

"That's the notebook that I told you to read. Bring it home. And talk to me after you finished. I'll wait, Love."

I held the notebook in my hand and give her a small smile. I bid my goodbye to her after I made her promise to me that she will focus on studying again.

March 4, 2020

It's been a week. I'm done reading everything in the notebook she gave me. And today, I told her to meet me in the park after school. I have no class this afternoon, and same as her.

As the teacher dismissed, I fixed my things and immediately made my way to the park. She's already there. Waiting and smiling at me.

"Hey." I said as I sat beside her. I also gave back the notebook.

"I did what you want me to do. Are you done reading this?" She said while still smiling. I can't help but to smile too.

I nod at her question. "I like the Mina I'm seeing right now. Don't do that again, ok?" I said while looking straight into her eyes.

"Only if you're willing to wear this again." She said while holding the necklace.

I stare at her for a minute. Ok, Chaeyoung. Just be stupid again. Just this time. For the last time.

I held the necklace and wore it. She's just smiling while watching me. I'll give this one last chance. I can see that she's happy. I'm also happy. I miss seeing her smile like this. I miss being with her, just us alone.

"So do you want to go anywhere?" I asked after awhile.

"Let's enjoy the remaining time. The Dean told us that we don't need to attend school starting tomorrow." I know what she's saying. The Dean also told me that. Virus issue.

"Yeah. So better stay at your house okay? And tell Momo and Sana unnie to stock some foods." I reminded her. I don't know until when are we like this.

She nod at me. We went to different places. Some of the people we met are wearing facemask. It's really not safe to be outside anymore.

After 2 hours of having fun. I told Mina that we need to go home. I sent her back and bid my goodbye. Hyung is already there, waiting for me.

"Uncle and Auntie will be here later. They told me that they will stay with us until the Virus issue are gone."

"Ok, Hyung. And I'll just go to my room. I need to change my clothes."

After changing, I went out again and sat beside Hyung. She's watching news. It's really alarming. But I don't want to think any negative ideas.

"By the way. Where have you been?" Eh? Didn't she know that I had class earlier? "Your class ends early. Where have you been?"

I forgot, she knows my schedule. "I met Mina. We talked and we had fun."

"Had fun? Are you two dating again?"

I only nod at her question. Infact, she told me to go back at her.

"Good to know. But be aware, ok? She still have Bambam." I rolled my eyes at her. I can't understand what she really want.

"I know. Don't worry about me anymore."

We didn't talk after that. And when my parents arrive, they already bought our stocks. We don't need to go out anymore.

When the night came, we ate our dinner together. I missed this. Being with them is beyond happiness. And I hope that all of us will be safe, especially my friends.
