Eleven was never a normal girl, and Hawkins was never a normal town. Anyone who knew Eleven Jane Hopper to the point of calling her 'El', knew her story.

She had been locked in a lab for all of her childhood due to human experiments on her telekinesis, escaped that and got shelter, soon after that she watched the man taking care of her die, four boys found her and snuck her into a house where she would eat eggos day in and day out in a basement, then she kissed the boy she was staying with, all the while this boys best friend was in an alternate dimension, eventually she disappeared into the alternate universe for a year, but then the sheriff found her and took her in, she ran away, found her long lost sister, Found her long lost MOTHER, returned home to her boyfriend, closed a gate to the alternate dimension, broke up with her boyfriend a year later, got a new best friend, killed a giant human limb meat monster, got back with her boyfriend, and a lot more, and not one day of her life was normal.

But she didn't let that define her anymore. She wasn't helpless anymore.

She could lift vans, close portals, take down seven foot monsters, and monsters made of her boyfriends sister's boss, and shockingly buff life guards. Billy got beef 2020. But that wasn't all she was. She had more value than that.

So yeah, she wasn't normal, her life wasn't normal, but she wouldn't trade it for the WORLD.

Oh, and somewhere in all that drama she got (not legally) adopted by a male senior in high school that recently graduated and is in no way qualified to parent even though he (NOT LEGALLY) adopted 5 children. And she also got (legally) adopted by that sheriff.

So that's all very fun.

She was currently in her room, talking about the mall with Max on her floor. "I think they need to renovate it! They only have, like, seven stores!" Max argued. "No! It's fine the way it is!" El refused.

"You're wrong, El, you'll see." Max denied. "No YOU'RE wrong!" El barked. Both of the girls gave each other a cold, dead glare. About ten seconds into that they cracked up laughing "PFF- you looked like you actually hated me!" Eleven chuckled. "You looked like you were about to slaughter me!" Max snickered.

"Slaughter?" El asked, tilting her head.

"Slaughter?" Jim Hopper peeked into the door which was open three inches as always, confused on why such harsh words were being thrown around, and wondering if Max should be thrown out of their household for introducing El to that word.

"Sorry Chief, we were messing around." Max defended. "What does it mean, Hop?" Eleven asked. She hadn't gotten to the point of calling him dad yet, and he respected that. They had a relationship like that.

"Nothing, El. You two have fun." He smiled, pulling the door closed, back to three inches.

"Sorry El, didn't mean to get you in trouble." Max winced a few seconds after the encounter. "I didn't get in trouble! Don't worry, all is well." The brunette assured. The freckled red head next to her nodded and grabbed her phone, pulling up a song and connecting it to El's speaker. Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl' played at full blast. Max stood and offered her hand to Eleven. Eleven took it with a laugh and both of them started dancing like crazy and singing along at the top of their lungs, holding back snickers and laughs and snorts. They went through their entire retro playlist, they preferred 80's and 90's music over the current stuff. They didn't have a reason. It just spoke to them.
