C3: The Deal

Jake's POV

"Two guys at the same time, huh?", Chelle said sarcastically while looking at the girl sitting in the cafeteria with two different guys.

None other than the 'Campus Cassanova', Meghan. *sighs*

"So, what will you do now?", Chelle asked.

"I......... don't know.", I said honestly.

Seriously, I don't know what to do. I want to bring back the old her, but I don't know how to do it.

"Think of it, Jake. If you'll stop Meghan from what she's doing, you can help her. Help her to move on, and then bring back the old Meghan David."

"But, how would I do that?", I said with a very confusing tone.

"Be her boyfriend.", Chelle said then smiled at me playfully.

"What're you saying?! Are you insane? That will never happen. First of all, she's my best friend. Second, she.......... she still loves my brother... so much.", I said.

"But you like her, right?"

I didn't bother to answer Chelle's question.

"Think about it, Jake. This may be your last chance.", she said, then she tapped my shoulder and left.

Last chance? Of what? Of having Meghan? I don't know if I can do that.... but I badly want to help her, to move on and bring back the old Meghan. The Meghan that we know. The Meghan that people loved. The Meghan that I love.

(Still Jake's POV :-)

I asked Meg to meet up with me here at the park where we used to play.

A little while later, I saw her walking to my direction.

"So, is there anything you wanted to talk about, Jake?", she asked as she sit beside me.

"Meg, do you want to move on about, you know, what happened 2 years ago?", I asked her straightly.

"Ever since his death, I've always wanted to move on. But... I just can't. It's like, every move reminds me about everything.", she said sadly.

She really has this side that is so soft. And I hate seeing this. I want her to be strong and always be happy.

"I'll help you, Meg."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"We'll be together in 5 months. And in those 5 months, I'll help you move on and forget about what happened. You're just mine and I'm just yours. You shouldn't have other boyfriends except for me. If things work out, then you decide if we'll continue the relationship or not. But if not, then you're free to do anything you wanna do."

"W-what? Why? Why are you doing this Jake? You know that it's Drake. It's still him.", she said looking so confused.

"It's because..... I like you, Meghan. And seeing you like that, it really hurts. I want to help you, Meg. If you'll agree to this, I'll help you move on..... and I'll make you like me, too. Meg, give me a chance. Give yourself a chance... to love again."

"I'm......... I'm sorry, Jake. But, I'll think about it first.", then she left.

Please Meg.... Please agree to this... I promise, I'll do everything...

Meghan's POV

A relationship with Jake for 5 months???

I don't know. But I think he's right. I should give myself a chance. I can't be just stuck with my past. I should move on and keep going.

Calling Jake...

"Meg?"

"Jake, I'll agree with it. I'll agree with the deal."

I just hope I'm making the right decision...
