New Year's eve has been a busy day to his whole family cooking foods for the welcome of the New Year later that evening.
"Sila Ria bakit hindi natin imibitahin?" Digong suggested. "Ay oo, nagsabi pa naman yon na makikihanda sila rito." Bong, Digong's brother, recalled.
"Ay dapat pa kanina ninyo sinabi!" Inday enthused. "Puntahan natin, alas nuwebe palang." He stood up.
"Ako na magdrive, pa. Mag-ten na." She volunteered.
It was about 25 minutes ride to Ria's house. "Ngayon ko lang ulit makita yung bahay natin sa Matina." He smiled.
They sold their house to his cousin, Ria Duterte, last October, just a few days after Leni left for US. They moved to their new house in Orchid street in Talomo since then.
Ria and her daughter prepped themselves up after receiving a message from Inday that she's fetching them. "Tara na Mayet, malapit na daw sila Digong." She called her daughter as she unlocked the gate.
She suddenly noticed a paper protruding off their house mailbox. She took it out and saw the the same sender again.
The car horned interrupting her. Inday Sara and Digong has arrived.
"Uy! Happy New Year!" They all greeted each other. "Halos makalimutan namin kayo! Buti naalala ko." Digong remarked.
"Oo nga, kuya!"
"Ano tara na para maaga makabalik? Ten thirty na." Inday pressured them."Ay kuya—"
"Pwede ba muna maki-jingle?" Digong excused himself. "Sige sa loob pasok ka lang." They laughed.Digong went for a comfort room break and immediately went out. He wondered why Ria and Inday seemed to be murmuring about something.
"Ano? Alis na?" He asked.
Ria handed him a pile of few envelopes. "Ano man 'to?" He asked chuckling.
"Lagi yan nagpapadala dito ng sulat sa'yo. Dapat noon ko po iaabot yan sa'yo kaso lagi ko nalilimutan. Buti naalala ko ngayon." She shared.
Digong furrowed his eyebrows and scanned the letters. His world stopped when he saw Leni's name in it and it astonished him to see that all the fourteen letters were from her.
He looked at them in surprise. Inday nodded at him signaling him to open it.
He began with the first letter. The contents were just for their eyes but here is a brief peek of her letters to his gentleman.
Hi Digong.

He opened the third letter.
Dear Digong,
