Chapter 5- Unedited
I was anxious, that much was obvious.
I hadn't managed to sleep last night after Ingrid had called me, her voice had confirmed my suspicions, she was the girl from the grocery store. To say I was nervous for today's meeting would be an understatement of the century and it had been as clear as the day when I met Brian and Michelle for breakfast in the morning.
I had planned on going alone but when they offered to come with me, I had agreed in a heartbeat, it would be great to have them around.
Right now, I was in my hotel room on the phone with one of Kyle's lawyers, he was helping purchase a beach house not far from here. The owner had agreed to let me buy it and was even eager to let me move in in two days, which means that everyone can stay there when they come instead of the hotel that we are currently staying in. It was a great hotel and all, but I wanted everyone to feel more at home.
After finalizing a few more details, I hung up the phone just as I heard a knock on my door, without waiting for my permission to enter, Brian walked in followed by Michelle.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked them as they walked further in
"Yeah we are," Brian told me.
Brian has been a great help during this trip, from reassuring me that things will be fine and to basically just taking care of everything I needed. He was Kyle's second in command yes, but he was just as devoted to me as he was Kyle and made a whole lot of things easier for me.
I took my hotel key card from the desk in the hotel room and let out a sigh, my stomach was in knots, "It's now or never,"
We walked out and made our way down to the hotel lobby where we waited for the valet to bring our cars around. We had decided to take two separate cars in case I need to be alone with Ingrid, that way they will have transportation back to the hotel.
When we got to South-side coffee shop, it was 10:45, I was getting more nervous with every passing minute. After I parked the car, I got out and stood there just starring at the coffee shop. This is the moment that's going to change my life. I hoped that my hunch was right and truly Ingrid was my mate, I don't think I can take another day of loneliness.
"You ready?" Brian asked as he came to stand beside me
I let out a sigh and nodded, "I am"
The three of us made our way to the door when my phone started ringing, I took it out of my pocket and looked to see that Eleanor was the one calling.
"You guys go ahead, I need to take this," Brian nodded and went inside with Michelle clinging to his arm. Michelle hasn't left Brian side ever since the attack, I guess she was still very much shaken.
"Go for sexy brother," I said answering my phone, I heard her let out a chuckle and that put me at ease.
"haha funny jackass" I could see her rolling her eyes
"What's up?" I asked
"Oh, you know I was just checking up on you, Kyle and I are on our way to Elvis" She told me with a sigh, I know how much she didn't like that guy.
"Why are you going there?" the plan was for them to all meet here in three days
"Jane ran away and he hasn't been able to find her" She explained
