Egeus, Theseus, and Hippolyta found the young people,
Sleeping in the woods, they all seemed equal.
So Egeus allowed Hermia to marry whomever she chose.
She chose Lysander, naturally, and her father did not oppose.
Helena and Demetrius were to be married, too.
Their love for each other would never be untrue.
They all went back, ready to be wed,
Memories of a strange dream filling each head.
Bottom and the other performers were chosen to do their play.
The couples enjoyed it, in a ridiculous way.
For people played objects, and a man a girl,
His long hair a wig that would twist and swirl.
Even though the tragic lovers Pyramus and Thisbe died at the end,
It was still a delightful play to attend.
And so our characters ended up content,
The couples, to each other, a perfect complement.
Titania and Oberon stopped their fights,
They would forever more have peaceful nights.
Even though Puck made a mess of things,
He still fixed them, such a good fairy with wings.
Bottom was fully human again,
And was no longer looked at with such distain.
Everything was good,
Like everything should.
Everyone’s days went on to be filled with happiness and laughter,
And they all lived happily ever after.
