avery cruised down the freeway with lucci in the passenger seat and tia at the back. after days of planning, they were finally going to hang out with charli and the rest of the girls.
lucci felt both anxious and excited as they were nearing the house. over the two weeks that she and charli had been talking, she has quickly grown fond of the girl. getting a reply from the girl felt like being injected liquid adrenaline in her blood stream. then she felt her smile freeze as she remembered how lucci talked about chase as if stars came out of his fucking ass. yeah, she liked mentioning the guy. the girl clearly had a crush and lucci wanted to roll her eyes at how bothered she has become by the thought. she quickly changed her face into something hopefully more nonchalant.
"you excited lucci?" came tia's question.
lucci rolled her eyes at tia's question. "of course i am." she has been on the receiving end of her friends' teasing ever since she and charli started talking and the last thing she wanted was to make charli uncomfortable.
"of course she is! she is about to meet her future girlfriend. keep up tia."
as they entered the gates, they could see charli and the rest of the girls waving at them from the bottom of the stairs.
when she got out of the car, arms were immediately wrapped around her shoulders. the same arms pulled her close, gently rubbing her back. her skin tingled at the touch as she sank into the warmth of the gesture. there really was nothing like a hug from the person you like. despite how one-sided.
"hi." lucci says, resting her chin on charli's head. "so good to finally meet you."
charli pulled away and flashed her the biggest smile. "me too! its crazy how close i feel to you after knowing each other for only two weeks."
"we have insane chemistry, d'amelio. don't deny it." although she knew charli was straight, a little flirting never hurt nobody. plus, its just who she is.
charli rolled her eyes and gently punched her on the shoulder. "suuuure. you're even funnier in real life, lucci."
"HEY LOVEBIRDS!" avani yelled from where there were a couple of cars parked. when they turned to them, the rest of their friends were all there. "we're going to dunkin."

when they arrived, they were hit by the aroma of coffee and donuts. after ordering, they all sat at a joined table.
"can i just say how good it is to finally meet you guys? i've been watching your videos for so long now." addison said while taking a bite of her donut.
"we're honored to even be here with you guys. you guys are like the girls of the hour." tia shrugged.
they began talking over each other when they realize that both charli and lucci were gone.
"uh where is lucci and charli?" dixie asked. they all looked around but couldn't find the two girls.
"lucci probably making moves right now guys. dont worry." avery said which caused the whole table to laugh.
avani snorted, "poor charli. shes so oblivious to lucci's advances. its kinda funny."
"its SAD. charli is so hung up on chase. lucci knows charli is straight right?" dixie grimaced. "she probably doesn't even know lucci is flirting FLIRTING."
"whats the deal with her and lil huddy boy anyway?" avery asked. both her and tia loved to tease and embarrass lucci about her not-so-subtle attraction to charli but they would never want lucci to get hurt in the process.
"in the beginning, it was all for clout. people obviously ate up the idea of charli and chase and it was gaining them attention." addison shrugged. "buuuut i think our little charli is catching feelings."
"i love chase but i don't think hes taking it as seriously as charli is." avani sighed. "pretty sure hes hitting up other girls but no one actually knows. he likes to flirt with charli a lot too."
dixie rolled her eyes. "charli can be really naive sometimes. shes literally a baby."
they were interrupted when they heard both lucci and charli's laughs as they entered the shop.
"hey." lucci greeted. "we left the line to play air hockey in the arcade a few stores down. charli was talking too much smack." charli gasped and hit lucci on the shoulders.
"stop telling lies!"
the rest of the girls looked at each other knowingly, trying to hide their smiles.
