I woke up to some bitch poking my belly.
"What the fuck do you want?" I demanded, sitting upright.
"Well, dang. Calm down." A scratchy, slightly annoyed female voice replied. I looked up to see a green girl with bright red eyes and slit pupils staring at me with her hands in her black sweatshirt pocket.
"Who the everloving hell are you?" I asked, jumping to my feet.
"Calm yourself, warrior princess. I was the one sent to wake you up." I fixed my hat, rubbed my eyes, and stared at the girl. We were about the same height, or 5 foot 3.
"But who are you? And where am I?" The girl just smiled and fidgeted with her hair, revealing little bat wings in place of ears.
"Calm down. We are at the Nexus Stronghold."
"Where the hell is that? And stop ignoring my first question!" At that, she stopped with her hair and touched a facial zipper, then put her hands back in her pocket.
"Nexus Stronghold is in the Bermuda Triangle. Follow me if you want a look around." She spun a finger around in a circle, revealing long, sharp black fingernails.
"Fine. But what is your god forsaken name?!"
"Oh, my name?"
"Yeah!"
"I'm......Skaavilf."
"What the fuck even is that name?" I asked before I could stop myself. Dang, I really seemed like an asshole. Her eyes widened with surprise and sadness, then she looked down and shuffled forwards.
"Anyways..." She said after a moment. "This is the dining hall, and this is the kitchen, where you get your food. It's pretty good. Questions about this part?"
"No. Look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier, I-"
"It's fine." I could tell it was not fine but decided not to push.
"After this," She said, leading me further down the hallway. "Are the classrooms. These are where we'll learn, obviously, and do other activities. The room at the end of the line of the classes is an art room, which is always open. Up here," She pointed up a set of stairs at the very end of the hall. "Are the dorms. Follow me and I'll show you your new room."
"I don't wanna move in here! I don't wanna be here at all!" I followed her up the stairs anyway.
"None of us wanted to come here in the first place. But now that we're here...." She zoned out.
"Uh, hello? Skaavilf?" I asked.
"This is the common area." She said, indicating the room at the top of the stairs. It had multiple couches, a large TV, a few gaming systems, and a comfortable blue rugged floor. There was also a personal kitchen with a dishwasher and a table for ten. She led me down another hallway at the end of the room. This hallway had bedrooms on either side of it. At a quick glance, there was about thirty of them. She pointed to one with the number 23 on it. "This is yours." She opened the door and we entered. There was a mini fridge, microwave, desk, dresser, closet, and bed.
"This is my room?" It wasn't huge, but it was better than I expected. I expected it to be some small cubicle that was so small you couldn't breathe, but this was pretty good. I sat on the bed, which had dark blue blankets with white and yellow stars.
"Can I be alone now?" I asked. She nodded and left. I turned and stared at the walls, which were dark purple with stars like my blanket. I slipped my shoes off and put my feet on the light blue carpet. Today was a long day. I took off my clothes, and, in just my underwear, went to bed under the warm covers.
