Dresses.
I hate dresses. I am not the typical girly girl, and I was actually a real tomboy back in high school. Dresses and heels were appalling, makeup made me sick and having to style your hair was a joke to me.
After all that, you wouldn't expect to find me in a blue dress. Its the only nice dress I own and I wanted to look a little extra special, considering I'm going out on a date with one of New York's most eligible bachelors.
I apply a rosy blush to my cheeks, look in the mirror and then take a makeup wipe, and wipe it off. Like I said, makeup makes me sick.
I try a little bit of eye shadow, apply mascara and a pale lipstick and luckily, I don't cringe at my appearance.
After makeup, I step into my black heels (again, only heels I own). I plop on the couch and watch TV for a bit until a knock comes to my door.
I look through my peep hole and I see Justin, holding flowers and there's a goofy smile of his face.
I open up the door, and he says "You clean up splendidly, Emma." He smirks at my appearance.
"You don't look half bad weirdo." I shoot back.
"Well, your famous wit hasn't left I see?"
"Nope." I say, popping the 'p'.
He chuckles lightly as he extends the bouquet of flowers towards me. I smile, take them and say "Come in for a moment while I get these is water."
He comes in and sits down on a nearby couch. I get an empty vase, fill it with water then I put the flowers in the vase. I set the vase on my dining table so its under the light and it looks nice there.
After that, he takes me by the hand and we leave for our date. After we exit the apartment building, I see a limousine waiting for us.
"A little too much don't you think?" I say, shocked.
"No, I think it's alright that I treat my lovely date to a taste of the good life."
I eye him evilly and say "Well, fine but there better not be champagne raining down from the sky by the end of tonight."
"Can I call off the team first okay? " he asks, pretending to take out his phone.
"Ha-di-da. Funny joke but let's go."
He opens up the door for me and I step inside. He then steps inside and he opens up a bottle of champagne, pours it into two glasses and hands me one. I take a sip and enjoy the sweet, bubbly taste.
"Wow, so posh for a first date don't you think?" I say, draining my glass.
He chuckles and refills my glass. "No, I think that you deserve the best first date of your life."
"It kinda already is." I say, smiling.
Just as I finish off my second glass, the limo stops at this restaurant. It looks classy and private and someone opens up the door. The man looks at us kindly and says "Welcome Mr. Keith and Ms. Stewart. Your table is waiting."
Justin steps out first and then he extends his hand to me to help me get out. He leads me into the restaurant and leads me to this table a little off the side but it has this romantic ambiance to it but I notice that the whole restaurant is empty.
"You rented the whole restaurant out?" I ask incredulously.
"Yeah, I want to be private about my dates."
"Next time, don't rent out the whole restaurant."
"Wait, your saying there is a next time?"
"Yeah."
He just smiles at me.
He extends my chair for me, I take a sit and he pushes me into the table. He takes his seat and calls a waiter to pour our wine and serve water as well.
After the waiter leaves to get our appetizers, we talk.
"So tell me, how many women have you taken out on this type of date?" I ask.
"Why would you want to know?"
"It interests me how many women have experienced this treatment."
He raises an eyebrow at me and says "Honestly, I've never when all out for a date until now. You had me gripped."
Strong word.
"Wow, I gripped the ever-so famous Justin Keith?"
"Yeah, that kiss was amazing."
I blush as our appetizers come. It's rocket salad with a lemon vinaigrette.
"So, how many guys have you kissed?" Justin asks.
"Um, why would you want to know?" I reply.
"I'd like to know about my competition."
"Well there isn't much. I was always too busy to think about a love life."
"Aw, well you've got me and I'll make sure you'll have time."
I chuckle lightly and say "Thank you."
Our main courses then come and we continue to talk and eat just fabulous food. We have dessert made take-out and we leave feeling happy and full.
The limo takes us back to the apartment and when we reach the front of my door and I am about to go inside he says "Wait, I don't get a kiss?"
I merely smile and kiss him lightly on the lips. I am about to pull away when he pulls me in closer and swoops me up into his arms.
He closes the door to my apartment and he takes me into his, closing the door behind him.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I will let you guys imagine whatever happens next since I'm not gonna narrate that (Keeping this PG guys)
Anyways this will be the last part of The Cafe Kiss since I think I've left them in a good place and there isn't more to add...
But who knows? I may add a bit more in the future or even expand this into its own novel but for now I'm content with this.
