Mornings.

Ugh, whoever invented mornings should be shot. I'm serious I say that no one hates mornings more than me. Waking up at ungodly hours isn't my thing and never will be.

It's Monday morning (worse than mornings itself) and I struggle to get up. Even since that whole confrontation with Justin went down, I haven't been outside my apartment.

I get up, shower, dress for work and get a cup of coffee to give me some energy. I leave my building, call a cab and rush off to work.

To my luck, I get there just in time. Doris is there, I log in and get ready for opening time. I make my way over to the waitress corner and I see Dina there, wiping the mugs.

"You look good today, sunshine." She says sarcastically. Unlike me, Dina is a morning person. She looks well-rested and just blooming with energy.

"Yeah, I know I look like a train-wreck."

"So spill girl. I know something happened and I have feeling it involved Justin." She says, giving me a look.

Is everyone psychic all of the sudden!?

So I tell her everything, the coffee, what I said and me storming out.

"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Em, this guy totally has the hots for you! Isn't it exciting!?" She practically screams. Sometimes its hard to believe we're the same age since she acts like a fifteen year-old.

"Okay, calm down fan girl. He doesn't like me. He just sees me as his next mistress." I say.

"No, if you were his mistress, you would have been an easy get, but no he actually has an attraction to you."

"Think what you want but there's no way he likes me."

"Yeah I'll humor you for now. Let's get back to work before Doris fires our butts for slacking." She says, while picking up mug and wiping it.

When we open, a swarm of people come in with the Monday morning coffee rush. I notice that all these people have a letter inscribed on their shirts. They came in a specific order that makes me feel like they're spelling something. I look at the groups of people.

The first, a couple have an I and a M. They stand up and I get a good view of the letters.

IM

The next, a duo of twins have S and O. They stand up next to the couple.

IM SO

Third, a group of teenagers with S,O,R,R and Y. They too, stand and join the others.

IM SO SORRY

Then the last are three guys with E,M and M.

IM SO SORRY EMM

Whoever this is spelled my name wrong. Then out of out the blue comes Justin, bearing flowers in one hand and he had a letter on his shirt too, a letter A. He stands next to guys, completing the message.

IM SO SORRY EMMA

"What is this? Some sort of grand gesture like in the movies?" I spit out angrily. I will not be won over with this trick.

Justin frowns and says "Emma, whatever gave you that idea? I'm saying sorry. I want to and I also wanted to ask you something."

"What is it?" I ask.

"Will you go out with me?" He asks.

"What? Why me when you could get a supermodel?"

"Again with the supermodels. Emma, don't you get it? I like you. And I'm not saying this so you'll tumble into bed with me but I'm saying it because I genuinely like you."

Wow. I can't tell if he's being genuine or being a fake.

"So, what do you say?" He asks hopefully.

"Yeah I'd love to." I say, smiling.

He smiles at me and then does the unexpected, he pulls me in for another mind shattering kiss. Its quick but full of emotion and intensity.

He pulls away, leaving me wanting so much more...

AUTHOR'SNOTE:

Yeah, I almost want to end this but I think that I will write about their date first, lemme know of your interested in that.

The last part might be their date, maybe but one things for sure that this will not be expanded into its own novel (well, not now at least) but if you're interested in a full length The Cafe Kiss, let me know in the comments and what you think so far.

Haha, thanks for reading and love you all,
