Chapter 34

"Tessa is an ex girlfriend from a few years ago" he started to talk after sitting in front of me for a bit "honestly..I was head over heels for her" him admitting that to me sent a weird feeling in my stomach. I know he cares for me now but hearing how he felt about someone else was hard "I met her at a bar, at the time I didn't know it but she was dating Price. So that's another reason he hates me, eventually she left him and she and I started dating" hearing him declare his love for someone else stung

"so what happened?" I ignored the feeling for now, I need to know what happened and why William would even mention it

"After about a year and a half into our relationship, there was a day where I was working late at the office, my secretary came in and we were discussing some of the merchandise that we were going to be receiving." he took a deep breath before continuing "I knew my secretary had a thing for me and there were points where we would hook up but when I met Tessa I kept things civil with her, I contemplated letting her go at one point because of the fact that she always threw herself on me without me wanting it" his voice was soft even when it was deeply low

"well on that day Tessa said she got a text from me to come to the office, turns out that my secretary had sent the text without me knowing. Well at one point my secretary threw herself on me and started kissing me, for a bit I kissed back but I realized it was wrong but before I pushed her off I heard Tessa's voice. After that Tessa didn't want anything to do with me, at that point I told myself I wouldn't date anyone else"he let out a large sigh before continuing

"but then I met you." totally cliche but I liked it "when I first saw you I couldn't believe how beautiful you were. When Tanner introduced you as his wife I felt almost jealous, if it wasn't for that I would have made you mine that day" his cute dimples appeared on his face as he smiled at me "I heard one of the girls say what bank you worked at when I walked by them and that's why I showed up at your job, if I couldn't have you I at least had to see you"

"So why does William know about Tessa?" I loved what he was saying but I needed to know the rest of this before getting side tracked 

"I think he's friends with the secretary I had back then or something" he sounded hurt, in that moment I couldn't help but believe everything he was saying, he could be lying but in my heart I felt it was all the truth 

"So you loved her?" I knew this answer, I don't know why I asked 

"I did, she was my biggest heartbreak" at least he was being honest, the thought of him loving another woman sucked..but I also loved Tanner so I can't be mad about it

"okay" I responded, not knowing what else to say 

"okay?" he asked

"okay I believe you" its true, I do believe him. Whether that its dumb of me or not, I believe him.  he reached out and pulled me closer to him

"I can't lose you princess, if I do it'll completely break me" I sat myself on his lap and put my arms around his neck

"I don't think I can lose you either Dame" he cupped my cheek with his hand and pressed his lips to mine, something I don't think I'll ever get tired of. He moved his hand down to my thigh, running his hand back and forth on my skin, making goosebumps come up to the surface. He pulled away from the kiss and looked me in the eyes

"Rachel" I could feel his soft minty breath on my lip from how close he still was "I love you"

*super short chapter I know! I just felt this is the perfect place to end this chapter, it would just feel wrong to me to continue on this chapter after him declaring that he loves her. Let me know what you think*
