I opened my eyes and saw I was in a beautiful bed. It was made of coral and ivory. I shook my head, pushing away the headache. The last thing I remember was, being pulled into the sea by water. I forced my memories to float into my mind. I was Sandy Edwards. I lived on the coast, I loved basketball, I loved the ocean, and I went to Seaside Middle School. After that it just floated in easily. When I was 4, I went to Disney Land with my mother, who I lived with, because my dad left a long time ago. In first grade I had a crush on Winslow Franklin, who now is a jock and a jerk. I was a loner, yet I was respected and not teased. The thing that kept me going was basketball, which I was devoted to. I was a freshman and was determined to stay in school until graduation to pursue acting.

After reviewing my memories a couple more times until they were stuck in my head, I observed the room. The door appeared to be ready to unlock by noon, meaning it would remain locked until my lunch was delivered. Perfect. An escape route. Use my Karate skills(mom made me take classes) to beat my captors up then run to freedom! Now how to overtake the grown men I was likely to see when the lock opened.

While thinking about this I heard a click and realized it was noon. Perfect. I got in to a stance when the door opened.

At the door was a gorgeous boy around my age. He had ruffled blond hair, ice blue eyes, and a face proving he was a player. But that's not what scared me. What scared me was that he had a tail to match his eyes! A mermaid tail!

I didn't make a single noise as he swam closer. He noticed the tail and started to look constipated. His tail split and turned the color of the rest of him.

Realizing he now had male parts(you know, THE male parts) I kicked his groin hard. As he crumpled in pain I ran out the door. Outside were several fish swimming around. It didn't take me too long to realize that the whole place was underwater. Might explain the salty taste I had in my mouth that day. I swam up and stuck to the ceiling as the guards swam through th corridor. They would probably have to wait a while before he would be able to talk in a normal tone of voice.

I found an exit and began to swim as fast as I could to the surface. I noticed a battleon of guards following me. I smiled. Thank you mom for forcing me to join the swim team. I could beat the best swimmer at school now. I shot up to the surface, taking a deep breath. It truely was noon. I swam to the surface as fast as I could, worried about the mermaid like creatures who could turn their tail into legs. I bolted to my house, ran in, and locked the door hard. I ran to my room, lay down, and passed out.
