Four months have passed since my trip to Lake Sebu and three months have passed since Kyle decided to pursue me. We have agreed to continue seeing each other after that trip and to take things slow. Nyx was against the idea of us going slow but I decided to ignore her protests. Besides, it was me who was being courted by Kyle, not her.

"Don't you think three months is a little bit long for Kyle already?" Nyx asked when we were at the coffee shop while waiting for Kyle and Danny. Since they were working at the same company, we often had lunch and dinner dates together.

"Well, he hasn't asked me if I could be his girlfriend yet," I told her as I ate a big slice of my red velvet cake.

"So you're just waiting for him to ask you? Oh my God. Why don't you just make the move? Who knows when he will drop the bomb?" Nyx said a little too loudly. People inside the coffee shop started to give us looks but she didn't mind them. I, on the other hand, just shook my head in response and focused on the red velvet cupcake in front of me.

Just when I was about to eat the last piece of my cupcake, a pair of hands blocked my view. When I successfully moved the hands away, the cake was gone.

"Ya! Where's my cake?" I exclaimed and that was when I heard him chuckle. I looked at him sharply but when I saw the box that he was holding, I decided not to argue with him anymore. It was the box of my favorite cake.

"I'm sorry, I'm late. I had to get this all the way from Ortigas. You know how bad the traffic is," he explained as he sat right next to me. When he held my hand, all that I ever wanted was to get the cake that his other hand was holding.

Kyle must have noticed how I wanted to eat the cake so badly that he decided to open the box for me. After removing the ribbon from the box, he handed it to me.

"Aren't you going to slice it for me?" I asked him, which caused a mini uproar from Nyx.

"Arci, don't you have your own hands for that?" I immediately shot her a look but I was distracted when Kyle told me to open the box first. As much as I hated to do it, curiosity got the best of me. With the way he was urging me to open the box, it was as if he was hiding something in it. And when I saw it, tears started to stream down my face. Written on the cake was "Will be you be my girlfriend?"

"Hey, why are you crying?" Nyx asked out of concern. She then started to threaten Kyle for making me cry even if we weren't official yet.

"I hate you!" I told Kyle as I hit him lightly on his chest. Instead of consoling me, he just laughed at my reaction. He then placed the cake on top of the table and hugged me tight.

"I guess I'm taking that as a yes?" With tears still rolling down my face, I nodded my head and said yes.
