Greyson slaps the batter down on his counter, rolling it back and forth until he gets the right amount of thinness for the crust. The familiar tune of the bell rings in the kitchen and his peers see Rue walk in.
"Good morning Ms.Rue!" One of the regulars says from his table. She smiles and bows slightly. Leo ignores her and continues to serve and clean the tables when she walks around giving everyone her greetings.
"Good morning everyone! I hope to be of good service for you today!" Rue says bowing before heading into the kitchen. Leo sighs, stupid fox.
Upstairs Olivia sits on the bed covering her face, still processing the incident downstairs. She's known the guys for about two years now, accidentally meeting them while she was running away from her father. It was supposed to be a one time deal, she'll stay for three nights for some cash. She was the only daughter to one of the top leading companies in the city, money was never a struggle for her. Yet one thing led to another, somehow she always found her way back to this cafe; seeking an escape.
She rolls over to Greyson's side of the bed and inhales slowly. Greyson accepted Olivia with everything she had and thus she became attached to him. He introduced her to Leo after a couple months and now the three of them are always together; although Leo lives away from the cafe.
She takes out her phone and scrolls through the missed calls from her father. Rolling her eyes when she reaches the messages. My dear Olivia whom I love very much...? What is this bullshit? She deletes the message and looks at photos of her and Leo. Greyson was very adamant on taking many pictures whenever the three of them went out. 'For the memories' he would always insist. The first one is her on Leo's shoulders giving the camera a peace sign while her other arm rests on top of his head. She swipes over to see the three of them standing in front of the cafe, she was in the middle wrapping both of her arms around them. Rue must've taken this picture.
"So," Greyson sighs turning to Rue, "why is the stupid mutt here today?"
Rue rolls her eyes and takes her apron off the hanger and ties it tight, "Your personality sucks you know that?"
"Olivia would say otherwise, I mean she knows why you're here anyway," Greyson says placing a hand on his hip.
Rue smirks, "Oh, I'm sure she does. That's why she's behaving...she wouldn't want anything to happen," Rue looks over at Leo, "To something important to her." Greyson stares at the smaller woman and raises an eyebrow.
"If you think that you can touch one hair on Leo's head without anything happening, I'm afraid you're mistaken," Greyson says. Leo walks into the kitchen, unaware of the tension between the two, he sets some dirty dishes next to the large sink.
"Hey, are the cupcakes ready for the old man by the window yet?" Leo asks, holding a metal tray against his hip.
"They should be in the heater, next to the blueberry pie," Greyson smiles. Leo nods and walks to the large heater by the refrigerator, he opens it and hisses at the gust of hot air.
"I hate this stupid thing, I'm not trying to sweat on the job!" Leo complains. Rue walks out of the kitchen, glancing up at the staircase. At the same time, Olivia runs down the stairs, completely ignoring Rue.
"What have I said about running?" Greyson warns once Olivia reaches the kitchen.
"Can I steal him?" Olivia asks, pointing to Leo who is stacking cupcakes on his tray.
"Steal--" Leo whips around.
"I need him! Please Greyson it will be only for a couple of hours I promise!" Olivia pleads walking over to Leo. She unties his apron and lifts it over his head.
"I don't really have a choice do I?" Greyson chuckles.
"Guys you act like--" Olivia grabs the tray out of Leo's hands; setting them on the counter.
"Shush! Greyson we're leaving!" Olivia smiles dragging Leo off through the back door. She holds his wrist tight, her knuckles turning white at the tips and her arm locked in place. She drags him down the alleyway and stops when they reach one of the vending machines. She pushes him against the wall and stares into his amber eyes.
"What's wrong princess?" Leo tilts his head in confusion, watching Olivia slowly release her grip on his wrist. She glances around before shoving her phone into his face, "Woah, I can't see anything let me see it!"
Leo takes the phone and stares down at the message, his face twists with disgust, looking back up to Olivia he hands the phone back to her. Oliva slips the phone into her back pocket and smiles.
"Do you think he would let me go?" Olivia asks.
Leo pinches the bridge of his nose with a sigh, "Let you go? Olivia, your mother isn't exactly the sanest person on the planet."
"I know she's made some mistakes in the past but I think she could have gotten better!" Olivia says.
"What she did to you isn't just some mistake! She is on the same level as that stupid father of yours." Leo scoffs. Seeing Olivia's face grow dark he grabs both of her arms, giving her a small smile, "You don't need them."
Olivia gives a weak nod and pulls away from Leo, "I know, I was just...hopeful. I shouldn't have even had the hope of me going to see her. It's just been a while since she's contacted me!" She lightly slaps both of her cheeks, "I can't be sad over something this small!"
Leo laughs, "What am I going to do with you?"
Olivia pulls Leo off of the wall and into a hug, "I'm sorry," She mumbles into his chest.
Leo wraps his arm around her and rests his head on top of hers, "There is nothing to be sorry about princess. It's normal to miss somebody, you just have to be smart."
"I just-- I just was looking through the pictures again and I wanted to be able to smile like that again and I just thought--"
"That seeing her again would make you happy?"
Olivia sighs, "Yeah."
"Are you not happy right now? In my arms like this," Leo leans to her ear, "You're greedy."
Olivia screams and kicks Leo into the other side of the alleyway, he holds his stomach and wheezes.
"What is with both of you today!" Olivia covers her face.
"We just like showing our love to you! Why are you so violent--" He coughs and wipes a fake tear away.
"Shut up Tomato boy!" Olivia says running back to the cafe.
"Hey wait a minute! You were the one to drag me out here why are we going back already?" Leo calls running after her.
"Greyson tells me to stay away from creeps!"
"You make it seem like I kissed you or something!" He says. Olivia freezes and turns back to see him scratching his head in confusion.
"You--" Olivia stammers.
"What about me?" Leo walks closer, a smile slowly creeping on his face, "did you want me to kiss you back there?"
"You're an idiot!" Olivia screams while she hits him again, knocking him to the floor, "I'm telling Greyson!"
"Agh-- please don't! He's gonna kill me!" Leo cries crawling after her.
