The morning passed in a jiffy. Shehnaaz made sure to never be alone with Sidharth, although he tried to corner her many times. They both gave an earful to their parents who said they wanted to surprise them. They justified that they thought it was better to get them married to their best friend instead of strangers. Everyone seemed happy and asked them to sort out their differences as they weren’t children anymore. Although his mom knew what it might be for him to see her as wife now. But she also knew her sufferings hence she tried not to be partial with her.
Sidharth thought it wasn’t wise to throw her out now when the entire family wasn’t out of the wedding hangover. He would wait for a few days, maybe a month, before he tells his family that he and Shehnaaz were simply not compatible. He laughed at his own thoughts. They weren’t compatible, really? They could start a fire in water and that too when she was a girl and now that she had turned into a full-fledged woman, she could burn him alive with just a mere glance. Last night was a demo of what she could do to him.
He had been awake for long wondering why she was here. Where was Rajkumar Rao with whom she was spotted last in the restaurants and the rumors were very convincing about them dating and getting married soon? Maybe he was dead, good riddance, he thought. So the logical conclusion that Sid drew out of the situation was that Sana was forcefully married to him because her parents wanted her to marry. The thought of her having a happily married life with someone else boiled his blood. He hated her more with every breath. He would torture her so much that she would never forget him or the one month she spent as his wife. He grinned at his thought, yes she deserved his hatred and she will get it.
He declared at the breakfast table that he was going to shoot. His no-nonsense tone shut the mouths that were about to protest.
Shehnaaz was shocked at how much of Sidharth had changed. He was rude not only to her but the entire family. The Sidharth she knew was so soft-spoken with everyone he loved.
Evening came faster than they both had anticipated. The only work Sid did at shoot or more specifically in his vanity was calling up all the detective agencies he knew. After thinking a lot he came to the conclusion that whatever was the reason for Shehnaaz to be forced into this marriage, he would have to find it out. His brain and heart were working overtime and would only rest when he finds a much needed answer. He can’t expect an honest answer from Sana so this was the only way he could think of.
He reached home only to find it empty. He called up his mother who told him that the entire Shukla family including Siya had gone for a movie. They would only return late in the night. His mother had also told him to convey the message to Sana
Sid- where is she? He instantly asked
SM- You don’t know where she is?
His mother asked at his ignorance .
SM- She went for her shoot this morning, will be back anytime soon.
His mind started racing, alone with her, could he handle this?
“Please behave” his mother softly added before disconnecting.
That was it; he would behave, in a way his mother could never imagine.
He quickly freshened up, lying down on his bed he closed his eyes and pretended to sleep as soon as he heard the front door open.
He could hear Sana call out for Siya and the other family members. He then heard the door to his room open silently. He got curious when he didn’t hear her footsteps anymore. Just when he was about to open his eyes, he heard the bathroom door open and shut. He took a deep breath.
The sound of bathroom door opening brought him back to present. He saw her quickly moving towards the door to make an escape. There is no escaping now, he thought. She was in his den.
Sana had just put her hand on the door knob when she felt herself being pulled away. One moment she was at the door and the next moment she was against it, her back forcefully pushed into it.
Sid- Where is he? Is he dead?
She looked up into his fiery eyes
Sana- who? She asked confused
He smirked
Sid- oh do I need to remind you? Your famous, young Fiancee Rajkumar?
Realisation dawned upon her “oh” she mumbled.
So he has been aware of those articles circulating in the industry. Obviously he would know. He is the king of this industry right now. Who was she kidding? The guy who can do anything he want?
Sid- Mar gaya? He repeated with the kind of hatred that she couldn’t define
Sana- Aisa kaise bol sakte ho aap?
Sid- oh, I am so sorry, hurt hogayi? He mocked.
His inside burning with rage for her obvious love for that man. And the way she has been addressing him by his surname and ‘aap’. As if he was a stranger to her. Well, was’nt this Sidharth a stranger to her? Yes, offcourse. This Sidharth scares her.
Sana- Chodo muje Mr. Shukla. Muje baat nahi karni aapse.
Sid- Nai toh? Apne Rajkumar ko bulaogi? He raised a brow
Sana- Nahi, mei chillaungi. Aur fir sare aajayenge yaha. Tamasha mat banvaiye.
Sid- ooohhhhhh….. OMG..chillao fir..mei bhi dekhu kon aata hei tumhe bachane. He smiled
Sana- Siyaa…Siyaaa… Maa..Dii… she shouted, repeating over and over again as he continued to smirk at her.
Sid- Hogaya drama? Koi nahi sunne wala baby. Koi nahi hei gharme. He sang hum tum ek kamre mein bandh ho aur ghar pe koi na ho, socho kabhi aisa ho toh kya ho?
Chill ran through her body
Sana- please chodo muje. She desperately pleaded
Sid- Kyu? Apne Rajkumar ko nai bulaogi? The love of your life, tumhara fiancee… who kyu nahi aaya to save you from this monster?
He pushed her on the sofa and landed himself on her. His huge body now pinning her to the sofa.
Sid- I need answers. He said, rubbing her lips with his thumb “speak up”
She shook her head
Sid- Bolo Shehnaaz, nahi toh aaj nai rukunga. He said nuzzling her neck with his nose.
He looked up to see her shaking her head again, eyes closed; she looked like a frightened kitten. Fine he was on for the game. He would torture her until she gave up and told him why she was here. With that he placed his lips softly against her “speak now” “no” and he deepened the kiss, nibbling and biting her, demanding an entry.
She was afraid of him, very afraid, but she won’t let him know that. She wouldn’t talk about the past; not with anyone and never with Sidharth. Silence was the only solution and she would stick to it although it was getting harder for her with each movement of his. She could feel him aroused for her with him pressing in her stomach. She closed her eyes. She remembered Jasmine. Why was he reacting to her touch if he only felt hatred for her? Was she thinking too much? He loves Jasmine, he made it clear last night. She thought of pushing him away but then her heart didn’t have the strength to do that. Even if it was for his hatred, he was near her and she won’t push him away ever again. He had every right on her and she would give him everything he wants.
He felt her stiffen and then relax below him “now” he said and she shook her head again, this time looking directly into his eyes. He moved his attention to her neck and harshly bit her there. He heard her hiss in pain “now” he demanded “no” he heard her whisper. He had enough of her, with one swift motion he removed the saree-pallu off her shoulder. Without looking down, he looked directly into her eyes “now” he whispered hoarsely, the last thread of self-control slowly slipping off him…
Why did she have an upper hand always in this. This is not done. Her proximity is bringing the old Sidharth who was her..
I…I… she fumbled with her words and couldn’t continue. Her breathes laboured at his naked hungry gaze which he wasn’t even trying to conceal anymore. She wasn’t sure if she wanted him to continue with his assault despite his obvious hatred for her. Was it right on her part to force him into something he would regret later on? Could she deal with the regret that she would see in his eyes once he came back to his senses? The answer was, ‘she didn’t know’; she didn’t know if she wanted him to stop; she didn’t know if she could deal with the regret without having her heart broken into a million pieces. But she would be lying if she said that she didn’t love the hunger in his eyes for her; that she didn’t fell a part of her return to life with the realisation that he craved for her as much as she did. She closed her eyes trying to gain her sanity back, she couldn’t be so selfish “I don’t owe you an explanation” she said with as much aloofness she could gather.
He looked startled by her bold retort but he masked it before she could find an escape route. He slowly dipped his face in her neck, kissing her throat sloppily “hmmm… I would love to continue then”. He purposely let himself fall on the floor dragging her along. She pushed him and sat up; her back facing him. Their position such that she was now sitting on the floor facing a life size mirror which showed her uncovered front; her unruly hairs and a pair of thoroughly kissed lips. Unknown to her, a blush crept into her cheeks; she looked at the picture in front of her in awe. He joined her in the mirror. She composed herself immediately and tried to leave but he held her firm by pulling her more into him by her waist. He side-swept her hairs and started kissing her shoulder softly all the while looking directly into her eyes in the mirror watching his effect on her. Her eyes softened.
Sid- Who aisa kar sakta tha tere saath? Tuje ye feel karsakta tha kya? He whispered into her ear kissing and nibbling it at times. She could have missed the faint whisper had his desperate eyes not asked her the same question in the mirror.
Sana- Nai she whispered back
Sid- nai kya? He asked breathlessly
Sid- Nai, ki tu javab nahi degi ya fir Nai ki who tuje aise feel nahi kara sakta tha. Tracing the outline of the blouse that shamelessly clung to her breast blocking his view. “Please” her voice sounding as if she was drugged.
Sid- Jawab de Shehnaaz, aaj nahi jaane dunga tuje, bata konsa nahi? He asked pulling her by her hair, her mouth dangerously close to his.
Sana- Dono. She whispered breathlessly
Sid- Dono answer nahi hosakta sweetheart, ab bol, humare paas puri raat nahi hei ye discuss karne ke liye, muje bohot si interesting chize karni hei. He whispered the last part sensually.
Sana- Nahi, koi mere itne karib nahi aaya aur koi muje itna effect nahi karta, tu hi hei. She whispered back to him trying to snuggle into his warmth.
And just like that, the warmth was gone and there she was, dishevelled on the cold hard floor, alone.
She looked up with confusion, the clouds of desire lurking in a corner of her eyes. There he was sitting like a king on the sofa, smirking at her
Sid- Ab batao, kyu aayi ho yaha? His face devoid of any emotion.
It was then that it stuck her; he didn’t want an answer to why she was here, he only wanted to bring out her vulnerability, to torture her. The cruelty shook her to the core.
Sana- Janvar kahika. She said with anger
Sid- All thanks to you sweetheart, teri wajah se hi hu aaj jo bhi hu. His smirk never leaving him.
Sana- Mei nai bataungi kuch bhi. Jo karna hei karle, yaa toh divorce deke free hojate hei. Teri choice hei.
She spat back, hoping in her heart that he would chose the second option.
He took a deep breath.
Sid- Meri choice hei? Pehele toh thi nahi ye choice mere paas. Toh ab kyu? He asked, hurt.
She fumbled. She had no reply. So she picked up the fallen pallu, draped it around her and rushed out of the room.
He didn’t stop her this time. Seducing her wasn’t a part of his plan; he wanted to torture her, to insult her, to rip her into pieces. It was not that he didn’t succeed; she looked tortured, insulted and ripped apart but that didn’t make him happy; maybe because he too had to go through all of those along with her. Her act tonight confused him; she looked so vulnerable, like an open book, had he not known of the cruelty she was capable of, he would have fallen for her. She reminded him of the girl he had once loved and lost. Nothing changed, that smell, that mouth, that soft velvety skin, it was all the same; yet his hunger wasn’t, 5 years of starving for that body, that soul has made him an animal. Hell he couldn’t even execute his plan properly. He took out his cell-phone and looked at the message she had send a month ago. He has been looking at it since morning
*I don’t know how to thank you enough for the proposition. I need a child to call my own and the adoption centre won’t give a child to a single mother. You are doing a great favour to me by allowing your daughter to be a part of my life. I think I have fallen in love with her already. And about the papers, please send them over to my vanity, I’ll sign them. Had you not proposed this, I would have done it myself. And don’t worry about the complications post marriage; I don’t have my heart with me to give it to anyone. You don’t have to forget your wife’s memories. Once again thank you *
*I don’t have my heart with me to give it to anyone.* damn she loves that idiot. But then why did she marry me? Why did she react to my touches? Why does she love him so much? 5 years of heartache came tumbling back to him.
His frustration had made him so restless that he couldn’t wait for the detectives to find out. He reread the message. She needed a child? Why? He couldn’t find one clue that would give him a satisfying answer.
He looked at Jasmine’s picture on the wall
Sid- I wish you were here now, I don’t know what to do.
Sid- I’m sorry, I told her that I love you. I only wanted to hurt her. You know I’ve always wanted to hurt her and you also know I’ve always wanted to love her. He buried his face in his palms
Sid- God, I feel so helpless.
Shehnaaz slept with Siya that night too afraid to return to his room. They both spent another sleepless night tossing and turning on their respective beds.
He entered his Vanity only to be greeted by numerous files from the different detective agencies he had hired; some labelled as Shehnaaz Gill and other Rajkumar Rao. There were two files in the name of Shehnaaz Shukla too. At any other situation he would have laughed at that but not today.
With trembling hands he opened one file, and then another and so on; his frown increasing with each passing moment. “Damn it” he closed the last file with frustration.________________________________________
