Friendship.
It sparkles like the water at dawn.
It touches you like a late-night yawn.
Knowing someone is there for you,
Make the sad moments a little less blue.
It tastes sweet, like a box of chocolates.
It can send you to space, like rockets.
Staying awake all night,
Too tired to fight,
Pretending we're alright.
We turn out the light.
Laughing at every word,
Everything seems absurd,
The hope flies away like a bird.
Or like a dream deferred.
It sparkles like the water at dawn.
It's joyful like a newborn fawn.
Knowing someone is there for you,
And you're there for them too.
It tastes sweet, like a box of chocolates.
Your memories are hidden in lockets.
