John Green once said that the world is not a wish-granting factory, and I for one have always seen that to be true. It's always the good and pure of heart who are condemned to face the worst of the universes' wrath. And as for the bad? they slither amongst us wearing disguises of friendship and love. The bad rarely get what they deserve and I've always been a firm believer in the concept of karma; what goes around comes around. My nana Marylyn would always tell me as a little girl that revenge is never the answer, and that the real test of character is how you treat someone that you don't have to be nice too.
As a kid, I never really had a particularly vengeful spirit, but I was always angry at someone, I was a hurricane trapped inside a raindrop and I was falling...falling fast. But then I met him, the boy with eyes like a winter storm who always seemed to be running. I had no idea what exactly it was that he seemed to want to escape so bad, all I knew was that he was going somewhere far away and I wanted to go with him.
I want you to know something important before you read our story, unfortunately even I don't know the ending...because he's gone and this time I don't think that even I can find him.
This is the story of how I found myself completely consumed by the high of summer, the memories I was never able to forget, the summer everything changed...the summer I discovered myself and knew exactly what it felt like to want to be invincible.
