We heard the shouts, it came from the motor pass close by. Running out of our rooms we all wondered what caused the noise and who. Huddling close, no one dared to investigate the matter for fear of being bundled alongside the noise. Being the crazy and daring child amongst my family, I stood up to go closer to a door or window and find out the source of the noise only to be stopped by my mother;
"Tomiwa she called me, come back here, where in Gods name do you think you're going to"?
"Mum I just want to know what the problem is, we all can't just stay here and be in the dark, oblivious to what's going on outside, OK, what if it requires us to run? We wouldn't know because of fear. I'd be back soon". Dara I called my younger sister, please lock the door behind me and with that I slipped out into the dark."
