*7 years ago before that night...
The gang decided to go to he beach since it was above 95 degrees that day. Tori convinced me that it will be fun and Chris was coming. She knew a little bit about me crushing on him but never said anything due to the fact I wanted to keep it on the low. We had a very complicated relationship , he was now 3 years older than me since I just turned 11. He claimed didn't want to be with a kid whatever the hell that means. We arrived to the beach everybody was already there waiting on us I assume.
"I'm going to go get in the water T" she nodded her head and walked towards Devin. Chris looked over at me I simply rolled my eyes and walked to the water. The water was glistening blue as the sun shined down on it. Chris walked up to me and I attempted to bag up but he grabbed my hand and stopped me.
"What is your problem Z"
"Your my problem now move please" I snatched my arm away.
"What did I do"
"You act like I don't exist sometimes. One day we playing and you kiss me in my backyard then the next day at school you walk right pass me. I'm done with whatever this is I don't have time for it."
"It's not like that alright I just don't want people talking that's all Z"
"You care more about peoples opinions than me...cool I got it Chris"
"Z you know that's not true"
"Well it seems like it yeah I'm only 11 and your 14 but if were really crushing why should it matter" he simple grabbed my hand and kissed it. I was surprised he was showing affection in public he was not that type.
"Let me come over tonight and make it up to you please" he looked me in my eyes and smiled. I know we were young but we couldn't deny the feelings we felt towards each other. I told him okay and we got in the water. As we played in the water for some reason I felt like we were getting watched. I looked around but everything looked normal, guess I was just tripping.
Later that night Chris and Devin came over our house of course our parents didn't care because they were here every other day due to our friendship. I was in the back yard sitting on the tire swing looking up at the star filled sky. It was my favorite place to be at night since our back yard was big and beautiful. I got up and walked towards the tree , I smiled as I traced the letters "C+Z" that was carved into the tree. This was like me and Chris's personal area we both enjoyed the night sky. I heard footsteps approaching so I turned around to face him.
"Hey what are you up to".
"Nothing just looking at our art" he chuckled and looked at the carving as well.
"Remember how I said I was going to make it up to you".
"Yes Chris" he pulled out a little ring that you get from the 25 cent machines. I giggled at him for his cute attempt. He then got on his knee and I was surprised.
"Chris what are you doing silly get up".
"Zaria Earth would you marry me" he was so serious but it was cute and I couldn't say no. I nodded my head and said yes, he put the ring on my finger. We laughed and he got up and kissed me. We looked into each others eyes and I felt my body getting butterflies.
"Someday I'll put a real a ring on your finger".
"Oooh is that so we'll see".
"I really do care about you Z I promise to always be by your side".
"I care about yo too Chris" I smiled then me body froze. I started to get the same feeling I got at the beach when somebody was watching us. I looked around my back yard it was too dark to really see anything but it felt as if somebody was there."Chris do you feel that...it's like were getting watched". Then I heard some rustling in the far back corner.
"Chris I think somebody is watching us"
"Z I think your being paranoid"
"You don't hear that or feel like somebody is watching you". I asked him to walk around and check the yard for anything. I knew I wasn't being crazy I felt someone watching , you know that feeling.
"I think it was a squirrel but come on let's go inside it's getting cold" Chris said. He grabbed my hand as we walked towards the patio door to go back inside. I stopped and turned around to gaze the yard one more time, I didn't see any body figure and the rustling sounds were gone so I brushed it off. I wish I didn't , I knew I was right because that's when the person that was watching us began their game.
