Azalea cheered excitably as she cracked a Christmas cracker with George Weasley, a marvellous vibrant purple top hat exploding from within and landing securely in her hand, he laughed loudly, taking it and placing it atop her stunning brown curls, much to her own amusement as it slipped down her forehead slightly."Looking quite smart, if I do say so myself" the twin nodded with a chuckle, straightening his own waistcoat and she smiled again. The house was full of life and energy, decked out for Christmas and bursting with happiness. Azalea took a seat softly beside Ginny and smiled softly, uncomfortably. In the spirit of Christmas, she chose to make amends.
"Hi Ginny." The ginger girl was shocked when she was spoken too but smiled awkwardly nonetheless. "I just wanted to say that... I'm sorry if we gone off on the wrong foot. I know that it's been a long time but, I'd really like it if we could start afresh?"
"That sounds great Azalea. I'm really sorry. Since everything that happened in first year... with the diary. I've struggled to trust people but you really didn't deserve to be on the receiving end of my mistrust." Ginny babbled.
"It's okay Ginny. No hard feelings." She smiled softly and the ginger girl returned with a happy smile, gesturing to the food on the table.
"Ah Christmas." Feed beamed, taking a gentle seat, "Always bringing everyone together." Ginny merely rolled her eyes at her older brother but he seemed proud of himself as he shovelled mince pies into his mouth.
Azalea smiled softly as Harry appeared behind her, wrapping his arms around her from where he stood and pressing a kiss to her temple.
"Come upstairs, I have something for you." Be urged gently and she smiled as she took his hand, allowing herself to be pulled from the kitchen and up the winding staircase, all the way to the top floor where their shared bedroom was situated, carefully decorated by Molly. Harry pushed Azalea lightly onto the bed, smiling at her shyly as he opened a box he had placed on the bedside table.
"This isn't a proposal now, is it?" She questioned jokingly and he chuckled.
"Not just yet." He teased as he took a seat beside her and handed her the box softly.
"Harry, we promised we wouldn't get one another anything." She pouted.
"Yes, well you broke that first, didn't you. Giving me that watch" he nodded to where the magical watch sat on the table. It was stunning, he could not deny that and he felt proud to wear it on his wrist but that didn't change the fact that they weren't supposed to get one another anything.
"Okay, so we both lied" she giggled as she opened the box. Her eyes lit up at the sight of it, it was a silver necklace, the charm in the shape of a lightning bolt with a brilliant emerald embedded within it. "It's beautiful Harry" she gasped in awe.
"You said you wanted something to remember me by and now you will always have this. I saw it and thought you'd like it. It's got my scar and my eyes" he chuckled shyly, trying to explain and she smiled softly.
"I know Harry, I love it."
"Let me put it on you?"
"But it's almost night time?" She laughed.
"I don't care. You can wear this and I'll wear my watch" he chuckled as he pushed her hair aside and softly clipped it around her neck, allowing it to drop. Azaleas eyes were bright with happiness and jubilation and she pushed forward, pressing her lips strongly to his in a moment of passion.
"I love you Harry" she spoke against his lips and he smirk.
"I love you more Azalea" he kissed her once more, passionately. "Merry Christmas Lea"
"Merry Christmas" she smiled and they sat silently for a moment, peacefully, Harry twirling with the watch on his wrist. Their moment of peace was however interrupted as a crash was heard and they raced quickly to the window without a word in time to see a great fire ball land violently in the garden, spreading around the house as dark shadows swirled in the sky. Instantly alert, Azalea raced Harry down the stairs, wand already in hand. Just as they reached the front door, Bellatrix lestrange landed with a bright beam, leaping the flames like a deranged woman and Harry sprinted after her, ignoring the protests.
"Harry, No!"
It was the first time he had seen the murderer since she killed Sirius and nobody could find it in their hearts to blame him for that. In the instant Harry left, Azalea was chasing him, running as elegantly as a gazelle as fast as her legs would carry her through the swampy landscape of the burrow, in search of the love of her life.
"I killed Sirius Black!" Azalea could heat the crazy lady screaming but could not find she nor Harry, the long grass whipped around her, her legs and dress quickly becoming damp as she ran, frozen to the bone but she could not find him no matter how panicked she became.
"Harry!"
"Lea!" She could bear him but was yet to see him. When she finally burst through the grass and found him, he was already joined by another. Fenrir Greyback stalked him, staring hungrily but he had no chance to harm a single hair on Harry's head as Azalea shot wordless curses at him and he vanished off in a puff of smoke. It was not long before they were joined by Remus, Tonks and Arthur but it was already over, the death eaters vanishing into the sky.
"Molly" Arthur whispered in horror and sprinted off back towards the Burrow. Just as they burst through the grass, it was to find that they were already too late. The house was aflame.
