Walking out of Paul's truck, Mackenzie stopped.

She didn't want to go inside the mansion, anxiety running through her veins.

"come on Mackie! Get your ass over here. Now!"

" Mhm yeah. Actually I think it would be better if a got back home, you see, my ankle doesn't hurt that bad."

Suddenly Paul threw her on her shoulder, smacking her butt in the process, before heading to the house.

"hey put me back down stupid asshole!" Mackenzie screamed, punching the shapeshifter's back

"Mackie you are as strong as a hamster and I'm made of steel.

Now stop acting like a fucking child who is scared of darkness. You have nothing to be afraid of. It's morning!"

"okay, do you realize I don't see the difference between light and dark anymore right? All I see is the thunder"

"oh right. My bad"

Mackenzie scoffed. She knew she had to see doctor Cullen because there was something wrong with her. She had always been able to heal herself, but now she wasn't able to do it anymore.

It wasn't because of the thunder, the witches, the vampire or anything. One day she just woke up feeling her body temperature rise, sweat on her forehead, pain all over her body. She thought she was going to die.

But nothing bad happened, so she just thought it was the fever. Until she realized she couldn't heal anymore.

She wanted some answer and Carlisle Cullen was a doctor, so maybe he would be able to figure out what was wrong with her

"hello Paul, I see you have company."

A voice said kindly

"good morning Esme, this girl here is Mackenzie Connors, the girl Jacob and Seth told you about. I know there's a treaty, but she needs to see Carlisle."

" Really Paul? SEE Carlisle, not funny. Oh and put me back down!" the girl huffed, before placing her good leg on the ground.

"Hello dear, it's nice to meet you" Esme greeted her, taking her warm hand in her cold ones. Mackenzie didn't freeze, shiver as she thought she would. Esme's presence was calming, her touch motherly as she led her inside the house, a hand on the girl's back.

"can I ask you a question Esme?" Mackenzie said

"sure dear."

They were sitting on the couch, waiting for Carlisle and the other to come back from hunting.

"do you think he will find a cure?"

"a cure for what?"

"my eyes."

Esme smiled softly at the girl in front of her.

She thought Mackenzie was really strong, because after everything she's been through she still managed to be kind and to swallow her fear.

"everything heals, dear, things just take their time. I'm sure he will help"

============

"okay so. What do you think doc?"

"well, your ankle will heal in no time, but I'm curious. When did you stop healing by yourself?"

"I guess a year and a half ago, I woke up and felt like my body was on fire"

" Paul, when did the others shift?"

"the first shifted about six months after Mackenzie's departure"

Carlisle smiled softly, and was about to talk, when the door burst open, a smiley Alice Cullen entering the room

"hello Mackenzie, nice to see you again!" the pixie girl exclaimed, smiling like a freak.

Mackenzie shivered, that girl definitely creeped her out and for the first time she was grateful she couldn't see her creepy smile.

"you as well Alice!"

"why are your eyes white? Are you still blind?"

"STILL?"

Mackenzie on the verge of tears. She was going to see again.

"Carlisle, am I getting my sight back?" she asked hopefully

"that's what I wanted to talk about. I have every reason to believe you are bonded to one of the members of the pack."

"I don't think I understand what you are saying doc" Mackenzie said confused

Carlisle smiled.

"that, my child, means you are going to be able to heal yourself again. That means you are going to get your sight back."

"how?"

"because you, MackenzieOphelia Connors, are an imprint"
