A normal date

Ambrosia's Pov

I was utterly consumed in Hero's words that I just noticed that we are now at the back door of my house. Zach fishes in his pocket and pull out the key. He slams open the door after unlocking it. We follow him and Hero closes the door. Zach turns around and says with an displeased expression, " I would have said make urself at home but I'm afraid I can't. I think it's time u should go back and stay away from us, from Am." 

" Why?"he gulps down and glares at Zach. Ah uh this isn't gonna end well. I try to interrupt them. 

" Zach why don't u wait for me in the car? I'll drive u home. " Plz plz plz Zach not now. They beating each other's asses is the last thing I want. I don't need this drama right now.

Zach seems to realize the tension in the air. We all are choking on awkwardness. 

" Ok, make sure he gets out of ur house after saying ur goodbye," he warns me  before he goes out. He thinks I'm too young to handle this. I'm young but I can make my own decision. He needs to know that. He can be overprotective when he wants to. And I hate that. 

Hero stays silent not wanting to ignite anything bad and making me uncomfortable. Thank god. 

" Ur brother doesn't fool around. He's all serious when it comes to u. I can see that. I totally understand that. If my own sister's dating the dangerous not human creature, I'd do the same although we are not humans," he points out stating the obvious.

" Dating?" I wiggle my eyebrows. 

" I gave u a whole speech and that's the only word u heard. Unbelievable," he scoffs.

" Let's go on a date, like normal people," he continues.

I'm taken aback my his sudden request. I can feel butterflies fluttering in my stomach. 

" I'm normal, u know?" 

" But ur boyfriend is a big bad hybrid," he's laughing at me hysterically. 

" I'll come get u at seven tonight," he leans slightly holding my head and rub his nose on mine softly. I giggle.

" I love ur giggle, u ugly duckling," he pecks my nose, forehead and then lips.

" Go home now. I don't wanna have my brother waiting for me for too long."

" Like brother, like sister, huh? Driving me away?" he kisses me one last time and heads off.

I drive my brother home, him the whole time lecturing me. He does all the talking, of course. According to his non-science research, me going into the forest to find lavender is the stupidest thing I've ever done in my entire life. I promise him that I'll make sure to stay safe no matter what.  

Time skip___________

When I reach home, I take a quick shower and put on the light make up. I'm so excited for the date. A normal date. We are gonna have dinner together. And he's going to buy me roses, probably lavender which is the reason why we met. If u ask me, yes, I'm grinning like a fool. Never thought a simple dinner will make me that thrilled. I feel the adrenaline flowing in my nerve. 

Just as I've finished putting on my flawless make up, the doorbell ring. Wow, it's only six thirty. I think he wants to meet me as soon as possible. I put my phone  and keys in my jean pocket and  run down the stairs. I open the door and see Hero in tuxedo looking handsome as always. It's kinda new to see him dressed up like a gentleman. It's the very first time he wears formally since we have first met.

I stand on my tippy toe and peck his lips lightly. He circles his arm around my waist and deepen the kiss. It's a whole make out session. What's odd is that I don't feel the spark. U know? That might sound cheesy but whenever I kiss Hero even it's a peck, I find myself craving his touch. But this time makes a difference. If feels foreign, I guess. 

I slightly push his chest and break the kiss. He's awkwardly coughing too. He rakes my body up and down. 

" I thought u will wear a dress." So he wants me to be formal. I thought I'm slaying in the crop top and jeans which I'm wearing. I wanted to show off my body. I am confident in everything. So let's give it a shot.

" Wait here, I'll change." 

" Ok," he shows me his toothy grin. 

I change into a short pink floral dress. It's giving me a summer vibe. 

" How do I look?" I turn my body around. He seems pleased. He holds my hand and gives it a feather light kiss. 

" Let me escort u to dinner, my lady," he opens the car door for me. A black mustang. My jaw hits the floor. 

" How come u didn't let me know that u own this gorgeous car?" I don't know a variety of cars but everyone knows this is expensive af. 

" Not as gorgeous as u tho. Buckle up," he tells me starting his engine.

"Where are we going?"

" It's a surprise." I hate surprises. After two or three blocks, I notice him heading to the deserted area of the town. It's odd. Too f**king odd. There's no fancy restaurant in that part of the town. I look up and see the shoes thrown over power line. Meaning- It's the prime drug dealing spot. Trust me I know some illegal stuff. The reason is I love the adventure. And the thrill when I'm doing something I shouldn't. Like drawing graffiti on the wall and running when the cops patrol. Something is very wrong here.

Meanwhile my phone is vibrating in my grasp. I look at the contact and it's an unknown number. 

" Who is it?" Hero asks me. 

" Unknown number," I shrug.

" Then don't answer," he tells me with full authority. And I don't like it one bit.  I don't like being told what to do and don't. Being my boyfriend doesn't mean he gets to invade my privacy. If he wants to date me, he should be able to handle my attitude.

" U don't get to tell me what I do and what I don't. I hate nosy people. "

I answer the phone. 

" hello it's Am"

" Listen up. Don't act weird. Don't freak out. Just answer my questions. Ok?"

" Ok" I gulp. I'm scared now. I know this voice. He sounds like Hero?

"I don't know."

"Who is driving?"

"Hero"

"He's not Hero. He's acting like me to kidnap u. U r in danger now. U do as I say exactly."

"Who are u talking to?" the no-Hero guy asks me.
