They say dreams are either your deepest desires or darkest fears. Others claim dreams reveal the past or the future to come. Such is the case for 22-year-old Sadie Brooke Medici. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sadie is just finishing up her junior year of college at Haunn-Fidel University. However, she is unaware of the sacrifices her ancestors made to spare their family from death's unforgiving grip.
If she were to be honest with herself, she didn't know anything about her family history. All the sin and betrayal of her family's past was left in the past, by her parents, in an attempt to save her from the inevitable. Still, after Sadie learns about the troubles of her family's past, she must find a way to change her own destiny in order to save not only her family, but the rest of the world.
In order to do so, she must seek the help of both the church and the Vodoun followers, located in the most secluded and dangerous areas of the bayou. This, however, is not an easy feat. Numerous obstacles prove to get in her way along with the abundance of paranormal creatures that aim to keep her from obstructing destiny. Time would only tell if the dreams she was having were there to help her or reveal the end of time.
*note: the word "Vodoun" is another name for someone who practices voodoo, however there is light and dark voodoo, so keep that in mind as you read the story*
