Struggling to dry my hair, I began to get fustratred. It had been an hour and a half since I got out of my shower, changed into some shorts and a t-shirt, sat on my bed, and got to work on drying my hair. Since then, I had tried drying my hair with a towel, blow dryer, and even a fan. Nothing was working, but it never really did.
I had to change shirts a few times already, considering how soaked they ended up due to my hair dripping everywhere. It was always a hassle, but I had to do it.
Deciding I had enough of sitting around trying to dry something that wouldn't dry, I got up and went to my closet.
The stuff I was wearing currently wasn't exactly..."date appropriate."
I still wouldn't consider this meeting much of a date, though. More of an annoying business meeting.I opened my closet, somewhat reluctantly, looking for something suitable to wear that was business appropriate, yet also casual.
Scanning through my closet, I pulled out an olive green oxford shirt, picking off some lint before gently laying it on a dry section of my bed.
Taking another peek into my closet, I pulled out a black high-waisted circle skirt. It went slightly above my knee, but overall looked very nice, despite the few slightly noticeable wrinkles.
I stopped my outfit hunting to check the time again, realizing I had spent 2 hours on picking an outfit alone. I wasn't even done yet.
The meeting was nearing closer.
If this is the way I was meant to die, I'm going to scream. This is hell.
I rush past my cat and out of my room, into my living room. I made my way to the closet by the door to my apartment, looking around for a sweater or something to wear over my shirt. It wasn't very cold out, I just had "fashion sense" or something like that.
Miraculously pulling a medium-length cardigan off of a hook from my closet, I observed it a bit before deciding to use it with my outfit.
It was a dim beige colour, nothing too vibrant. However, it seemed like it would contrast well with the olive green and black of the rest of the outfit, so I chose it.
Sometimes outfits turn out good, other times they're a mess. Hopefully this one turns out well, because I won't have time to find another one.
I slid back into my room, tossing the cardigan on my bed and getting dressed into the outfit I chose. I also decided to wear nude tights, because what the heck. It was still a little chilly.
Inhaling deeply, I quickly walked into my bathroom, getting to work on a little makeup. There wasn't much, just some concealer, light blush, eye liner and eye shadow. I applied some not-very-shiny lip gloss, and quickly combed through my damp hair.
Taking one final look at myself in my mirror, I fixed my shirt collar and patted down my skirt, nodding in certainty.
I finally finished getting ready, walking back into my room to grab my phone, cardigan, and camera.
I sat on the couch and turned on the TV to distract myself while I waited.A short while later, as I started to drift off, I got a phone call. The caller ID telling me that it was the person I had been thinking about all day.
I reluctantly picked up, putting it on speaker phone as I slipped on my cardigan and my black boots."I'm just going to assume you already know why I'm calling you~"
Breathing deeply, I reply,
"For the business 'date' you requested, Mr. Gora?"He gasped a bit, and I could almost see his perked up face and his amber eyes light up now. He cleared his throat, regaining composure quite rapidly.
"Yep, be down in a few minutessss! We're waiting outside for you,"
'We'?
My heart dropped slightly at this. Did he invite anyone else? Who are we going with? Why would he invite anyone else? Is it his girlfrien-
Then it clicked.
His security.
He's a goddamn celebrity, of course his security goes with him.I'm a fucking dumbass, but this realization oddly made me perk up a bit, compared to the feelings of...almost...envy, that I had felt earlier.
Grabbing my camera, keys, phone, and wallet, I slipped out of my apartment. I then locked my door and headed to the elavator, going down to the plaza of my condominium.
The wait was kind of awkward, running into a few pet owners and business people who also lived in the building. We exchanged small, respectful smiles and left it at that.
Life was almost normal.
'Except for the fact that I'm going to quite literally DIE in the next few minutes'-
