It took me all of ten minuetes to get home from Danielle’s house and by the time I made it I was out of breath. So I walked inside and saw my mom in the kitchen cooking dinner when she turned to me and asked, “Well how was it?”. I looked at her and replied, “Same old stuff we just walked around for a bit and talked, James says hi by the way”. She nodded her head and went back to cooking clearly satisfied with my answer, “Hey Mom i’m gonna head upstairs can you tell me when dinner is ready” she nodded again and I prodded up the stairs and took out my phone to text James about the whole ordeal…
The next day
I walked into school like any other day, James and I talking about games or sports or something along those lines and then we got onto the topic of yesterday, “So whatd you guys end up talking about yesterday you were kinda cryptic in your texts dude”. I sook my head “Honestly its not important, im just glad we were able to hang out and clear stuff up”. He looked at me and began to laugh almost immediately, “OK you sound like something happened but I wont even ask now”, he said in between laughs. I couldnt help but smile, sure he was making fun of me but it didnt matter since he was basically like a brother to me. “Well would you look who it is, your little girlfriend” he said nudging me in the shoulder still grinning like a mad man. She saw me and waved and continued walking with her group of friends and I waved and went back to talking with James.
The day felt as if it was dragging on forever and it was only second block so I decided to entertain myself by trying to figure out how to actually use my powers. At first I tried focusing on one thing for about ten minuetes and that just made me even more bored than I already was.So I looked out the window neat to where I was sitting and started daydreaming until I realized nothing around me was moving anymore which freaked me out at first but then I got up and walked out of my classroom to see how much I had affected throughout my school. First I started in the hall just outside my class and there was a hall monitor who was walking but was stopped midstep so I approached him and waved my hand in front of his face, no reaction. “This is freaky, I wonder if Danielle ever got stuck like this before?” And as if on cue she appeared at the end of the hall and quickly closed the distance between us ,”You wanna explain why you decided to freeze the entire school?” I looked at her and grinned, “If i told you I zoned out and it happened would you believe me?” She rolled her eyes and sighed, “I was literally in lunch talking with my friends then all of a sudden they just freeze” my eyes widened, “So can you please turn off your thing?” I looked at her awkwardly, “Yeah sure sorry just let me head back to class”. She nodded and turned to leave just as i turned and walked back into class and sat in my chair and my teacher began to continue talking about a lesson none of us would remember by tomorrow.
After school James and I decided to hang out at my house, mainly because I had nothing better to do with my time and neither did he. My mom was still at work so we just went up to my room and began playing video games when he asks, “So dude you seriously didnt do anything with Danielle other than just talk”. I looked at him, “What was I supposed to do speak chinese”. He looked at me and laughed, “No i mean did you try to make a move”. I was confused, “No i didnt but i did get her number so thats something”. He looked at me excitedly, “Have you texted her yet?” I shook my head, “Havent relly had a reason to but I will if you’ll shut up about it” HE smiled and nodded as i took the piece of paper out of my jacket pocket and put the number into my phone, “You didnt even have the damn number in you phone yet cmon Mike” he laughed. After I finished putiing the number in I quickly texted her “Hey whats up” and tossed my phone onto my bed and looked at James, “There ya happy” as I finished my phone vibrated, “Sure but im sure your about to be as well, I grabbed my phone again and opened it and she asked if I was able to hang out again today and I showed James the text, “Well are you gonna hang out with her or not?” I looked at him puzzled, “Why would I when i’m hanging out with you?” He grabbed my shoulder and said, “Dude I know were really good friends but im not gonna be mad if you go hang out with your girlfirend”. He laughed and got up and began to walk out of my room, “Ill text you later”, I shouted after him and he just waved and shouted back, “Dont screw up!” I then picked up my phone and texted her back and asked what time was good for her to hang out and I silently waited for a reply.
