Danielle quickly texted me back to meet at the park in thirty minutes. So, I decided to walk around my neighborhood for a bit to pass the time. I walked around the corner from my house to where there was a 7-eleven and waved to the cashier lady who is always hereas I go in, "Hi, how are you today?" she asked cheerfully. "I'm alright just getting something to drink" I replied. She nodded and went back to looking at the computer she had behind the counter as I walked to the fridges,grabbed a fruit punch, paid and began walking towards the park.
As I got there i sat on the swings and pulled out my phone to text Danielle that i was here and waiting. After, I slipped the phone back into my jeans pocket and silently swayed on my swing, thinking. "Should I tell James what I can do? Would he even believe me or think I was just trying to mess with him" I got so lost in thought again that when my phone was buzzing I didnt realize and I had to scramble to get it from my pocket and answer, "Hello"? I said "Hey, its Danielle,im just around the corner you should be able to see me." she said. I quickly looked up and turned to see her jogging toward me as she hung up the phone. "How is it that you can control time and yet you're still late" I said laughing, She stopped running toward and scowled, "Doesn't matter alright, why are you always so early?" I looked at her and smiled, "Anyway what'd you want to hang out for? Is everything okay?" She nodded, "Just felt like hanging out y'know and messing around with our powers for a bit" she smirked. I looked at her trying to decide whether she was joking or being completely serious and I landed on serious, "Well what do you have in mind then?" I asked as I stood up across from her, "First I want to show you something" She said as she disappeared from sight only to tap my shoulder from behind a moment later. I jumped with surprise and fell over, "How exactly did you do that!" I asked wide eyed. "Well if you focus hard enough you can slow everything down so that it looks like you disappear" She said grinning toothily. "Do I even want to know how you figured out how to do that" I asked standing and brushing myself off. She shrugged and began walking, "Come on we're going to play ding dong ditch, whoever gets the most houses in one go wins. Ready, Set, Go"

I think it's safe to say that I lost that game horribly. Had I known that even with her small size that she'd be that fast I wouldn't have agreed to even play at all. "Dude you suck at this game" she said grinning. "Well maybe a heads up next time, then I'll know I'm going against Usain Bolt in a seventeen year old girls body!" I said laughing as my phone vibrated, It was james. Danielle looked at me, "Who ya texting over there" "No one, its nothing" I said quickly as I put the phone back in my pocket, "Alright so now what do you wanna do Mike head back to your place or mine?" I looked at her puzzled, "Why would we go back to my house im sure theres more to do at your house" She shook her head, "Nah not really i mostly play video games or sometimes I'll watching tv and sleeping that's about it." I nodded, "My place it is" I said as we began walking toward my house.
When we got there we walked in and I secretly thanked mybmom for her decorating skills, "Oh I like that photo of you, how old are you in this?" She asked as she pointed at an old picture of me, "I think that is 4th grade, Anyway what do you wanna do? Watch a movie, play games? Its your choice." She put her hand to her chin like in the cartoons I used to watch when i was younger, "What movies do you have?", She asked happily as I smiled and picked a movie from the shelf behind where she was standing, "Wanna watch it in the living room or my room?" I asked. "Lets go to your room since youve already seen mine I want to see yours now!"She blurted out.
I got the popcorn out of the microwave and we headed to my room to watch one of the cheesiest action movies ever, "So what's this movie about?" I glanced at her and laughed, "When you figure it out you tell me" I laughed. It wasn't long until most of the popcorn was gone and Danielle was falling asleep, "Hey wake up, your gonna miss the rest of the movie" She only grunted and turned over on my bed leaving me to shake my head at her and pause the movie, "Well if we ever do go out i guess the movies is out." I said to myself as i picked up the popcorn bowl, and took it downstairs to clean it before i woke Danielle up to take her home. That's when I heard the front door unlock and my mom walked in and sat her purse on the couch. I immediately began to panic, "Hey mom, how was work" I asked keeping my gaze focused on the bowl i was cleaning, "It was fine, but did you spray some air freshener in here or something it smells good". That was probably Danielle's perfume, "Yea i just used the last of an old one from a bit ago that was in my room" She walked into the kitchen, "Well you'll have to let me know the name of it later, so how was your day today"? I smiled and, "The same old stuff nothing new to be honest" I said as I heard our wooden stairs creaking and a very tired looking Danielle walking down the stairs, "Hey Mike I think Im gon-" she stopped short when she saw my mom who hadn't taken her eyes off of her yet, "Care to explain son" she said in a gentle tone that I was not expecting at all. "Um Me and Mike were just watching a movie and I was just about to leave" Danielle said quickly, "No, please stay for dinner it'll be good to get to know you since he doesn't bring anyone else over anymore except that loud ass group of boys" They both laughed as I was still scrubbing the bowl from the butter of the popcorn. "Let me go call my mom and let her know i'll be eating here then" She turned and went back up the stairs as quickly as she had come down, "She seems nice, but don't get the wrong idea your in trouble for having someone in here without my consent, now if you could move I have to start dinner" She said smiling at me and patting my shoulder and I went to go sit on the couch and as I walked past the stairs Danielle mouthed the words "Im so sorry" and giggled into her phone.
