Chapter 4: The Date

Harry's pov

I woke up the morning after the game with sweat rolling down my back from another nightmare. I rolled over and checked the time, 4:30am. 'oh Merlin why is it so early' As I rolled back over to try and fall back asleep a certain blonde crossed my mind and just wouldn't leave. So I laid in bed, thinking about Draco, the things that happened last night, and our date tonight on the Astronomy Tower. 'I'm just gonna get ready early' So I got up and took a long, hot shower. After I was done getting ready I went down to the Gryffindor common room. I picked a book off the bookshelf and sat in front of the fireplace. Even though I tried to focus completely on my book, I couldn't stop thinking about him.
Finally I heard Ron coming down the stairs, he sat down beside me and yawned. We sat waiting for Hermione, she was down in about 10 minutes.

"Let's go eat breakfast, I'm absolutely starving!" Ron exclaimed, making Hermione and I laugh.

"Ok ok we know," Hermione said, rolling her eyes.

So we all walked down to the Great Hall taking about last night's game. "So Harry, are you and Malfoy together?" Hermine asked, turning her head to look at me.

"Well yeah," I said, looking towards her.

"So when's the first date?" She asked, looking back in front of her.

"Umm tonight actually," I say, my face getting hot.

"Well I say it's about time you two got together. You've only been running circles around each other for eight years," Hermione said with a roll of her eyes.

I just looked down at the ground, certain my face was a deep red color. When we finally reached the hall we walked in and sat with Luna and Lavender. We hadn't been talking long before Pansy and Blaise walked in, Pansy taking the spot next to Hermione and Blaise taking the spot next to Ron. Soon after them Draco walked in and sat beside me, resting his hand on mine.
"So are you excited for our date tonight?" Draco asked, excitement radiating off of him.

"Of course I am! But do you want me to bring my cloak and meet you at the Slytherin dorms?" I ask.

"Yeah that would be smart, because you don't exactly have the sneakiness of a Slytherin," Draco joked, earning him a playful slap on his hand.

"Well I'm sorry I'm not sneaky enough for that," I said, looking up at him.

"I know, you're in Gryffindor not Slytherin. Gryffindors aren't exactly known for being sneaky," Draco said, looking down into my eyes.

"No we're known for being brave and courageous, not sneaky and cunning," I said matter-of-factly, looking up to meet his gaze.

He grabbed my chin and leaned down, giving me a quick peck on the lips before turning to his food.

Time skip- after dinner

As me, Hermione, and Ron were walking back from dinner, Pansy came up behind us and put her arms around Hermione's waist, making her jump.

"Pansy I told you not to do that anymore!" Hermione exclaimed, her face a little pale from the shock.

"I know, I know, it's just you're so cute when you're scared,' Pansy said, moving so she was walking beside her.

When she said this Hermione blushed a deep red and looked down at the floor. Pansy walked with us until we got to the portrait that leads to the Gryffindor common room. She said goodbye and walked off. As we walked into the common room we just sat on the couch in front of the fireplace. Hermione reading and me and Ron playing wizards chess. After our fourth or fifth game it was about 10:00 and we all decided to go up to our dorms. I decided to take a short nap before I had to go meet Draco, so I had a nice dreamless sleep. I woke up around 11:40 and got up to shower. After my shower I pulled out my favorite pair of jeans and a blue and green sweatshirt. I then grabbed my cloak and walked quietly down to the common room. After I walked out of the portrait I carefully headed down to the Slytherin dormitories. Before I turned the last corner I took off my cloak so I wouldn't scare him if he was waiting. Sure enough he was standing outside the common room waiting for me. I walked up to him and a big smile appeared on his face.

"Are you ready?" I asked, holding up the cloak.

"Yeah of course I'm ready!" He exclaimed, taking the cloak from me and draping it over our heads.

"We need to stand closer our feet are sticking out," I say, looking up into his beautiful silvery blue eyes.

"Ok," he said as he snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, "is that better?" he asked looking at me.

"Yeah that's better, our feet aren't showing anymore," I say, a slight blush crawling up my cheeks.
As we walk to the Astronomy Tower we don't say much, just walked with his arm around my waist. As we got up the stairs to the tower we took the cloak off and sat down, looking up at the stars. "They're beautiful," I finally say, breaking the silence.

"Yeah they most certainly are," Draco said looking down at me.

I looked up at him and my breath caught in my throat. The way his eyes shine in the moonlight you'd think there were little diamonds hidden in them. My thoughts were interrupted by Draco reaching down and intertwined our fingers. The smooth silky touch sent a shiver down my spine. He gently leaned down and kissed me, it was a gentle but passionate. We broke apart out of breath. After that we just laid back down, I rolled over closer to him and laid my head on his chest.

"Can I play with your hair?" he asked, looking down at me.

"Yeah sure," I respond, looking up at the stars once again.
We just laid there for a while, me with my head on his chest, and him with his fingers tangled in my hair. We had been laying there for what felt like minutes but was actually an hour and a half. I stood up and yawned, turning around and putting my hand out for him. After he took it and we were both standing up I walked over and picked up the cloak. I draped it over our shoulders and this time I was the one with my arm around his waist. We walked back to the Slytherin common room. When we got there he pulled me into one last deep kiss, we said goodnight to each other and after he said the password and walked into the common room, I started to walk back to Gryffindor common room. When I got there I said the password and walked in quietly. Hermione and Ron were sitting on the couch looking slightly worried.

"Oh come on Ron he'd be ok no matter where he went," she said, trying to comfort Ron in anyway possible.

Before he could respond I quietly took off the cloak and sat down in one of the chairs. "What's he so worried about?" I ask making both of them jump.

"Harry!" Ron said, almost yelling, "where were you mate? I woke up to your bed empty so I walked down here and happened to find Hermione," he asked, looking relieved that I was back.

"I was with Draco, on our date," I say, like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Well next time you go somewhere can you like wake me up or leave a note or something?" Ron asks genuinely concerned.

"Yes I will Ron. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go bed," I say as I pick up my cloak and walk up the stairs.
When I got up to my dorm I didn't even bother changing my clothes. They smelled like Draco and hopefully that would give me a somewhat dreamless sleep.
