A New Friend

Basically before the teaser.

Mumbo

I couldn't wait! I finally got in contact with one of my friends, Grian! He asked me where I was living, and asked if I could get him a place to stay. I obviously said yes, and told my friends about it when we had a little meeting/get-together. My friend Iskall was the most excited, mainly because in the apartment we're living in we have separate rooms, but they're all connected on the same floor, so technically we were roommates.

I lied down on my bed, thinking about what I should do. Then I realized the room Grian was going to have was really messy, so I opened the door into Grian's room. It was locked, but Iskall and I had the key to it and there was a spare one under a plant. I grabbed that one because Iskall had the key, and opened the door. I saw Iskall, the Admin, The Shaded Spy, Joe, and a few of my other friends and superheros, talking around a big table.

Clearly they saw me, and I backed away.

"M-m-mumbo, uh, it's not what it looks like," Iskall stammered.

My brain had to process this for a few minutes. Some of my friends, all superheros, including my roommate, meeting inside the spare room.

I asked, "Wait, how long have you been doing this?"

Admin spoke up, "Well, ever since we banded together."

No one spoke for a little until Joe said, "Well, I guess Mumbo already knows we're all the superheros. But you have to keep this all a secret."

"Of course! And you guys are going to have to move meeting rooms since Grian's moving in."

The Shaded Spy replied, "Yeah. Well, I'll start," she removed her helmet, "The Shaded Spy is me, False.

"I'm the Iskallium Soldier," Iskall summoned his armor like Iron Man(although no one knows that, in this world there's no such thing as Marvel or DC, I'm sorry).

"I'm X, "The Admin said, revealing his eyes, "and I guess since no one else wants to talk I'll explain. Joe is Mystc, Ren is Canine, and we have Impulse, Zedaph, and Tango as our base commanders, but they don't fight, they make us stuff."

I stayed silent, taking it all in. Iskall pressed a button, but nothing happened.

"DANG IT!"

"What's wrong Iskall?"

"The button that removes everything is acting up."

I went over, and removed the block that had the button. I jumped inside, and messed around with the redstone.

"Mumbo, it's okay, we'll just take it all down."

"Nah, I can just tell Grian that you need his room at around right now. OW!"

I looked at my finger, and I saw a cut that for some reason had blood mixed with redstone pouring out. Then I saw the machine in my mind, and thought about how to fix it. When I figured it out, I went to work but then realized it had fixed on it's own. X was watching, and said,

"Mumbo, I think you have powers like us. You want to be part of us?"

Everyone else agreed, and Iskall said, "Yeah! Then I won't have to hide anything!"

I thought about it, and said, "How about a yes?"

X lent me hand, and said, "Well, welcome to the Hermits. What should your name be? We'll get the suit an stuff worked out later. Ren, can you contact Tango?"

"Yep!" Ren pulled out a phone and called Tango. I said, "Hm, maybe the Kinker."

Iskall agreed.

"Then it's settled. Also, can you tell us a bit about Grian, we might need to know more."
