Hey guys! I'm fairly certain I know where I'm taking this story, but suggestions are ALWAYS, I repeat, ALWAYS appreciated :)

Let me know what you like, don't like, love, and hate about the story/chapters so I get an idea of what's good and bad.

I put a picture of Alexis Bledel on the right because I think she is the perfect Tenley. She's so demure but insanely relatable at the same time, non? Also, I love what Tenley wears (mostly because it's the polar opposite of my own wardrobe), so I'm going to try to put pictures of the dresses/outfits she wears so you guys can get a better idea of her personality.

Hope you all enjoy the story as much as I do! xxx

When I was younger, everyone always talked about how they were going to be the next President, or an astronaut that discovered a new planet. I, on the other hand, had a more modest dream of being the person who sat behind a desk and pressed the buttons that switched the lights on a stoplight. I’m not sure why I ever wanted to be in that particular profession, but I always knew who I was and who I wanted to become.

Fast forward to present time, and I’m newly graduated from high school, locked in to attend Mississippi State in the fall. I had worked my entire school career to get accepted to Ole Miss, so it stunned me when I wasn’t as excited getting the acceptance letter as I thought I would be. I shrugged it off then, but now having experienced what I did, I know otherwise. I wasn’t satisfied with my life in the slightest, and it took meeting him to realize it.

My only love, sprung from my only hate

Too early seen unknown, and known too late

Prodigious birth of love it is to me

That I must love a loathed enemy

I felt my bed shake violently. I’m not sure why, but my first thought was that there was an earthquake in Mississippi, despite the fact that it had never happened before. My second thought of it being an avalanche was quickly squashed when I remembered it was the middle of May. My third idea made much more sense: my twin brother was causing this.

I peeled one of my eyes open to see exactly that.

“JACKSON!” I screamed, unable to control my temper.

“Come on Tenley you’re going to make me late for school if you don’t get up.” He yelled back, still picking up and dropping my mattress.

Thankfully, he finally stopped when he saw me struggling to sit up. After forcing him out, I made my way over to the end of my bed: the designated area that I laid my preplanned outfits every night for the following morning. I took my time putting on my light blue dress that ended just above the knees, making sure I tied everything correctly. I slipped on some ballet flats and put the white ribbon in my hair that I always wore, which kept the hair out of my face. It had been given to me by my mother and I learned to appreciate everything she gave me especially after her and my father started their own restaurant together, following the failure of my father’s business, and were rarely ever home.

I grabbed my books, and an apple from the fridge before heading to my brother’s car.

“Ready, Miss Audrey?” Jackson asked.

I smirked at his joke; he had been calling me Audrey as a reference to Audrey Hepburn because apparently I reminded him of her. This, of course, was entirely based on the fact that I preferred wearing dresses to jeans, had decent posture, and didn’t let random private parts hang out of my clothes like normal high school girls. I didn’t drink or smoke, I did well at school, cursing wasn’t my second language, I refused to get anything other than my ears pierced, I had no tattoos, and I was a virgin.
