"doesn't bakugou seem a little calm today?" kaminari asked, leaning on kirishima's desk as he stared at said blond, who was simply gazing out the window.

"yeah, i noticed that too.." sero spoke, "he hasn't yelled once today.."

kirishima looked at the two with a confused look, "that is strange.. you think he's okay?"

the bell rang, everybody getting up to go home, when, "kacchan!" midoriya called dangerously, "want to walk home together?"

bakugou simply glared at the moss-green haired boy before pushing past him and mumbling, "do whatever the hell you want."

"dude, what the fuck.." kaminari gaped at the male walking out the door.

"it's unmanly to swear in front of people."

"did you guys see that?!" ashido shook the males, "he didn't even swear at midoriya!"

"i wonder what's up with him?" the group watched the male walk calmly from the window.

"no, i swear, there was a caterpillar cocoon hanging from the sunflower!" you exclaimed, handing bakugou some plant food he asked to borrow.

he grunted in response, which you learned was an indicator he was listening, snatching the plant food from your hands.

"then the next day, a pretty yellow sulphur butterfly was floating about! my old garden was so pretty.." you sighed dreamily, recalling the garden you had at your old house before moving into your current home. "anyways!" you grabbed a spray bottle from bakugou's side, that was resting on a small table close enough for you to reach. he didn't seem to mind.

you sprayed the smaller plants hanging from the ledge on your side of the fence, "you said your favourite flowers were orchids? which one?" you asked, recalling the little information from yesterday.

"you actually remember that?" he asked, surprise in his voice, "i thought that was a shitty distraction?" he paused his sprinkling of plant food and turned to you.

"it was, but i somehow remember it." you shrugged your shoulders and continued spraying.

he cleared his throat before answering, "i like miniature moth orchids.." he spoke, somewhat shyly and going back to his work.

you hummed and set the bottle down, turning to take your gloves off and set them on the small table. "suits you. even though they're miniature." you sipped a juice box.

"suits me?"

"i mean like," you let out a 'hm' in thought, "a majority of them are red and yellow, right? red and yellow are your colours!"

"my colours? what the fuck does that mean?"

"like your explosions! when you go boom boom, it always flashes yellow and red! sometimes white, which is concerning..." your voice faded at the last part.

"wh-"

"and short leafy stems hidden by overlapping leaf bases? that perfectly describes you! your hidden soft side covered by your explosive behaviour~" you teased, leaning over the fence towards him with a smile hanging on your lips.

bakugou leaned back away from you, caught off guard by the closeness of you two. "what the-" he cleared his throat, turning away from you to hide the growing pink spreading his face.

"am i wrong though?" you laughed, sipping your juice box only to find it empty.

you frowned before you dropped it in the outside bin, turning around and going back inside to get another, bakugou noticing.

"where the fuck are you going? we're not done!"

"i'm going inside to get another juice box, do you want one?" you turned.

"no." bakugou stubbornly declined, despite being visibly exhausted.

"yeah, right." you snorted, noticing the light sheen of sweat on the surface of the blond boy's skin.
