There was just something about the new car smell that made every guy excited . Maybe it had something to do with the body chemicals and stimulus ? The female generation was yet to fathom the whole debacle .
Isaac's mum being part of them .
Sean stood before the car he'd just bought and deeply inhaled . " Just take that in , Isaac . It's the most heavenly smell to ever hit your nose . " Isaac scoffed . He knew his brother would say the same about the weed he smokes and mum's food and his girlfriend's scent . The list was endless . Sean had a fickle nose .
" How much was she ? " He pushed himself off the garage wall and proceeded to peep through the window of the blue automobile . " Worth every penny , just know that . " Sean smiled to himself and opened the boot . " Look at that space . Oh , yeah . " He patted the floor of the boot and shut the door . The silent audience that was their mum took a sip of her cooling coffee in her hands and assessed the car with strict scrutiny . Sean was right , the car seemed to be worth every penny .
Seemed .
" Did you take a test drive ? " She asked Sean . He scoffed , " Of course . You didn't raise a stupid son , not unless we're talking about Isaac here . " He laughed and held Isaac in a headlock , ruffling his hair . Isaac protested and shoved Sean off him then glared at him and clenched his fists . She stepped in between them to prevent a looming scuffle and inquired , " How was the engine ? " " Purrs like a cat . " Sean moved to proudly pat the bonnet . " Your dad will have to be here to fully assess the car . " She hummed in thought .
Sean scowled at that . The idea obviously didn't excite him considering the fact that they never got along . The fact that Sean got expelled from his former university didn't help either . " Why'd you buy it ? " Isaac stared at the car skeptically . " Idiot . " Sean reached over to smack the back of his head , " Did you forget our plan already ? The road trip ? " Isaac's irritated look turned to one of recall then shifted to excitement .
Their mum frowned on hearing that . Sean may have indiscipline issues , but Isaac was worse compared to him . Bullying , drugs , insulting teachers , vandalism , shoplifting and let's not forget the nightmare with the Shanon girl claiming to carry his child . They had to pay off the girl and her family to hush up about the whole issue . These two unsupervised and on the road going to heaven knows where was a recipe for disaster . " Which road trip ? " She frowned at Sean . He let out a nervous chuckle and scratched the back of his neck . " From here to wherever the road takes us . " He shrugged . " What if the road takes you to trouble ? " She arched an eyebrow and placed the cup in her hands on the roof of the car to fold her arms . " Why is it such a problem ? " Isaac picked the cup off the car and she directed her gaze towards him , " Do you remember Shanon ? I know my credit card does . " He let out an exasperated groan and threw his arms in the air , " That girl was a slut , how many times do I have to say that ? That thing growing in her couldn't be mine . Do you know how many guys she went through in a week ? "
Sean laughed and took the cup from Isaac , " I graduated from high school 3 years ago and even I know of her potential . " " Yeah , and what does she have to do with the road trip ? " Isaac frowned and started to leave the garage . She wasn't one to let him have the last word , " You're not going anywhere and so help me if you get into this car and defy my orders you're not coming back to this house . " Isaac turned as if wanting to say something then decided to shut his mouth and wave his arm at her in disregard .
She should have known that that meant that he would obviously ignore her weak attempt at being strict because the following morning Sean and Isaac had packed their stuff and left , taking one of her credit cards with them .
Dad was going to be so pissed .
