Mary use to her life in the convent did not at all expect to wake up on the anniversary of her seventeenth year and see sister Mary Angela packing her things.

Sister may I inquire what you are doing with my belongings.

I was told to pack your things because you would be leaving to France later today.

why?

To meet your beloved.. prince Francis

Confused mary got up, got dressed and went to have her breakfast. Sister Elena came to Mary while she ate and gave her a letter Elena said  that it was from her father and mother.

        Dearest Mary,

Your father and I have always wanted the best for you. If you’re reading this that means it is your seventeenth birthday. Happy birthday Mary. Your life as you know it is about to change, you are a young lady and as such your presence will be required in France by sundown. Your father and I have made an alliance though your hand in marriage. Francis is a good man he will love you more than you will know. I love you and good luck on your endeavors.

Queen Helen of Scotland

Mary could not believe this was happening. She was do to marry a man she did not even love let alone know, but at noon that day she boarded a ship and set sail for France.

The trumpets blared announcing the arrival of someone of royal blood. Francis stood next to his father waiting for the royal carriage to ride in. He really didn't mind the wait when it was such a lovely day. The sound of the horses hooves grew louder and the carriage came into view. It slowed to a stop and the coachman opened the door for a beautiful maiden he had never seen before.

Princess Mary of Scotland

Mary of Scotland, where have I  heard that name before? She stepped forward to my father bowed low in a curtsey whispering a quiet your majesty. Then rised and came to stand in front of me.
How do you do I am Mary.
I am Francis welcome to france.

Then just like that she was gone. To be showed her rooms and have her things unpacked.
Knock knock
Come in Mary called.

Oh Francis, is there something you need from me?
No I just came to see how you were settling in.
Oh how thoughtful of you. You may come in if you please.
Francis came in and sat on one of her chairs
So how are you liking France so far?
It is all very lovely much different than what I am used to.
What are you used to in Scotland then?
Oh I don't know, Scotland was not what I  was referring to. I have lived with seven women for the last ten years. My mother thought it best after my father died when I was seven.
Oh dear I am so sorry for your lost. Francis replied.
Thank you.
They continued to talk for many hours. When Francis left she was very taken with him. That evening at dinner she had the pleasure of sitting by Francis on one side and his majesty on the other. The evening passed with much laughter and dancing and Mary and Francis talked much of many things. Right before Mary was about to retire to her rooms Francis called to her
Mary would you like to dance with me?
Why of course.
Away they went dancing the night away in bliss.
