Benny, on the other hand, was spoiled rotten. His family was extremely wealthy and lived in a large house on the other side of the country.

He had always been a mama's boy, although he was close to his dad too.

He was an only child, as well: his parents barely able to have him due to his mother's struggle with infertility.

His mother was a very well known lawyer of the city, and she made huge money on each case she worked, oftentimes working for celebrities or athletes. She had won countless cases and had only lost a few in her many years.

Benny's father, on the other hand, was a surgeon who was almost always on call. He was renowned all over the country for having the steadiest hands and most precise incisions.

Benny had never understood the struggle of poverty. He didn't understand that he was extremely lucky to have married parents who loved him.

Their family, however was not as perfect as it seemed on the outside.

Benny's father was cheating on his mother, and he did so quite often. His mother knew, and so did Benny. His father knew that they were aware, but he didn't really care.

His parents decided to not get a divorce, however, because they wanted their son to grow up with two parents.

Plus, it would look bad on their careers: to know their lives weren't actually perfect.

Benny never understood how his father could do that to his mother. His parents began to sleep in different rooms, and they hardly ever acknowledged the presence of the other.

He thought his life was hard, but he would soon come to realize how good he had it.
