Right now, his father was nowhere to be seen. It was rumored that he went inside the legendary "X-rank dungeon" to further his abilities and become "SSS-rank hunter". Because in order for a hunter to acquire a SSS-rank title, he or she must enter the X-rank dungeon and successfully came back and obtained the power of the said dungeon.

Once attained, you would be in a whole different level.

As a proof of a attaining its power, a special tattoo would appear in your body. It could be activated and once activated, it would emits oppressive aura and enhanced one's overall prowess to a certain degree.

That was to say, the Philippine President had already entered one of the X-rank dungeons and came out after six years. When he came back, he acquired great strengths worthy to be called the legendary "SSS-rank" hunter.

X-rank dungeon was a very unique dungeon on Earth. It was not connected to any other world but created directly to Earth by the people of the "first's age" 950 years ago to end the second great war.

X-rank dungeon was not just a gate, instead it was in a form of structure. It was the only kind of dungeon which was manmade.

But humanity had their reasons why did they created it. It was said that X-rank dungeons was used to seal a couple hundred millions of beasts that run amok on Earth long time ago in order for humanity to survive.

There were 'four' X-rank dungeons placed at the four sides of the Earth. The Underwater Castle in the East, the Black Pyramid in the South, the Thousands Floor Tower in the North and the Endless Maze in the West. Each of it was extremely dangerous that contained millions of demon beasts.

However, great opportunities came from great dangers.

150 years ago, a S-rank hunter from unknown origin who called himself the "Shadow Monarch" entered the Endless Maze. Just after four years, he came out from the dungeon and attained unfathomable strengths.

He was then appointed by the World Government as an 'SSS-rank' hunter. Since then, hundreds of S-rank hunters all over the world tried to enter the X-rank dungeons but no one had ever came back.

After that incident, the World Government banned the entry of S-ranks and below rank hunters to the X-rank dungeons.

"Sigh. Just why the hell I am so unlucky?! If I could just become someone like the Shadow Monarch I wonder how strong will I become."

Jem closed the door as he entered his room. He was contemplating about himself for being so weak. He thought that he would become someone great when he heard his mother's story about what happened to him the moment he was born, but it seems that the beasts just wanted him dead.

"...."

"Sigh, so unlucky!"

Hunters nowadays were too weak compared to the hunters of the First's Age. There were hundred millions of them and the weakest are probably 'middle ranker' (A and B rank), but after the second great war, they greatly suffered and their numbers greatly diminished.

570 years ago, Year 2507, and exactly three hundred eighty years after the first awakeners created the 'four prisons' to seal the countless beasts, the 'bottomless pit' has been freed from its seal and its mouth had once again started to glimmer with faint golden light.

Subsequently, countless portals reappeared everywhere on Earth. Beasts came out again from the pit and from the portals all over world to wreck havoc on Earth.

Then a big organization was formed in order to destroy all those portals and hunt down all those beasts. The organization were composed of awakeners with extraordinary power led by the remnants of the first age.
