not really a kenma x reader (sorTA) it's just a little something to start us off uwu

"aaa kuroo! are you sure this is okay?? i don't even know a thing about volleyball! b-besides kenma is going to be there and you know how i feel about him!!" i cried out, trying to get out of the boys' grasp. the closer we got to the gym, the more my anxiety spiked.

he shook his head and continued to push me towards the gym.

"don't worry about it (y/n)! you'll do great! and don't worry about kenma. if anything, this is a perfect time for you to confess your feelings!!" he said, making sure to lean down towards my ear to whisper the part about kenma before pulling away.

i blushed and smacked his arm. "shut up or else he's gonna-" "wow! look a girl!" a boy called out.

i let out a squeal in surprise and turned toward, making eye contact with about 7 volleyball players who were eyeing me up and down like a pack of wolves....or cats-

kuroo smirked and patted my head, earning him a growl. "today is our lucky day folks, i found us a new manager!" he cheered.

a boy who stood as tall as the tokyo tower approached, making me squirm in kuroo's grasp. right when he bent down to my height, i felt my soul leave my body.

it's like i was standing face to face with slenderman. "yo! my name is lev! what's yours?" he asked

i gulped, "(y-y/n)....kuroo can i leave now?"

kuroo laughed and pushed me further towards the boys. "nope!"

i groaned and glued my eyes to the floor, knowing that they were all staring at me, including kenma. thankfully, he didn't approach (yet) but the boys did. they eventually left me alone after 30 minutes before coach called me over to talk.

we talked for a bit before he laughed at how tense i was and told me not to worry. not that it helped though. in the end he actually liked the idea of me becoming their new manager. part of the reason why was because the boys wouldn't stop pestering him about getting a female manager.

i laughed at that part, hoping it'll ease my anxiety and surprisingly, it did. for the rest of the day, i watched the nekoma volleyball team practice. (well more like watching kenma practice but that's besides the point-)

i didn't know half of the things they were saying but i quickly got over that.

the boys would often yell out each other's names so i took this time to memorize them. i already knew who kenma and kuroo were so i didn't have to worry about them. one person i immediately knew i wasn't gonna like was lev. he's so energetic and loud it kinda made my ears hurt.

the sound of a whistle going off interrupted my thoughts. "okay practice is over! you all did great today! now go home and relax! and remember to wake up bright and early for tomorrow!"

"that's it?" i asked myself. it was barely 5:00 and they were already done with practice. kuroo heard my question and gave me a smug look. "aw did you want it to last longer so you could keep drooling over kenma~?"

i gasped and grabbed a volleyball from the floor before hurling it at his face. "i-i was not!"

kuroo groaned and rubbed his face. "oh cmon kenma was doing it too!"

kenma- who was drinking water- coughed and spilled his water everywhere before hurling his bottle at kuroo.

"jesus christ you guys are a match made in-"
