Cold. That's how she felt. Cold and alone. How did she end up this way? How did they end up here?
Although they were both together in the same dark carriage, he didn't even look at her. He didn't want to. It hurt too much, and he coudn't get his heart broken again.
"Jacob...look at me. Please," pleaded the girl with tears in her eyes.
Silence.
"You can't ignore me forever, you know."
"I can try."
Ouch.
"I know it is difficult for you to work with me, but we must put this aside, please. You are already arguing with your sister, I don't want us to fight too."
"Well if you really wanted that, dear Elisabeth, you could've just not end what we had, but I suppose that wouldn't be alright, because we 'let our feelings compromise the mission' .
"You know it's better this way. Evie is right, we could have gotten hur-"
"Evie...Evie...Evie! For God's sake Elisa, you weren't in a relashionship with her, but with me! What about my feelings? Oh, right! They don't matter! I forgot that already!"
"Of course they matter! It's just that-"
They could have argued like this the whole day, but that would've gotten them nowhere.
"...when were you going to tell me..? About your past?"
Now it was the girl's turn to answer with silence. She certandly didn't know what, or rather how to say it.
"And by your complex answer I suppose you didn't even think I would find out..."
Was that dissapointment in his voice? Of course it was.
They weren't like this. Yes, they would fight, but those were only in the heat of the moment. When they would shout at each other, and as fast as they started the fight, as fast it would end.
But this was different. Jacob didn't even want to fight. He was just hurt...and dissapointed...
The person he just confessed his love to, is actually the reason of all this. His and Evie's look for Shroud of Eden and the stopping of Starrick.
How did he not think of this before?
