"Make sure you lock the front and back door when you go to bed"

James hated it when his mum talked to him like he's a baby, he is 17 after all, His mum must have repeated herself 3 times, James almost knew what she was going to say next,

"lock the windows as well and just because we aren't here, it doesn't mean that you can go to bed at ...",  " a stupid time" James interrupted. His mum gave him a deadly stare, James knew that this meant he was in trouble.

Susie is a protective mother, she has a great sense of humour but when it comes to her son's safety, she is very serious, she even considered cancelling their getaway to Venice because she thought James couldn't handle himself at home, even though she has a bubbly personality, she also has a short temper that can explode at the littlest of things. Once, James accidentally dropped his plate of macaroni cheese on to the floor, no big deal, right, just clean it up with a sponge, Susie shouted at James like he had murdered someone.

"Susie, where is our passports?" saved by the bell, James's dad had a tendency to sense that his son was in trouble. That's one of the things he noticed about his dad, not only did he not shout but he can make Susie go from a savage dog to a puppy in seconds, James thought it was just one of those relationships, both of them completely in awe of each other, it was quite sweet really, but its not if you have thin walls.

Bill worked as a lawyer, which explains the mansion as he gets paid a bucket load, he loved his job, it has always been his dream and passion and Susie worked as a nurse, she has been for 15 years and

"okay son, all of the information about our flights, phone numbers etc, are on a sheet of paper on the kitchen counter, we are gonna be off now so here's some money for pizza," His Dad handed him £50 "Holy shit, they are only gone for the weekend, not a week!" James thought to himself

"Don't kill yourself"

James's heart jumped into his mouth, what a weird thing to say, I mean everyone gets awkward when their parents say stuff like that, James knew that his Dad was only joking but why couldn't he have said "break a leg" or "don't burn the house down", to be honest with himself, he didn't have the stomach for it, he loved himself to much, not in a cocky ,selfish way, but he just cared about himself to much to do it, even if things were really bad and he was depressed.

You see James was a big lad, not fat just big, very tall and he had some muscle on him, he had  a little bit of fat on him but not enough for anyone to care, when James gets sad or stressed he tends to workout or go for a run, he lives in a nice area so he can go out pretty much whenever he wants, but if working out isn't an option, James eats, many of us do, its not wrong its a coping mechanism, well that's what he tells himself when he does. But what I'm trying to say is he wont do it, he cant anyway.

Susie gave James a big sloppy kiss on the cheek and a large hug, to the point where he cant breath. "arrghhh mum I cant breath!" "let the poor lad go, we have to set of now if we want to catch our flight," his dad hurried her along. They said their goodbyes and left.
