Lucas

After a short drive, we arrive at the crime scene. There is not a single cop in sight. Lionel saw the shattered window and was asking how it happened.

Madeleine- Some kids accidentally threw a baseball at the window. I'm sorry we didn't tell you. We weren't sure how you were going to take it.
Lionel- It's fine, don't worry about it. I can lend you another car if you want.
Lucas- You could just fix it instead of replacing the car.
Lionel- I will take care of it.

We exit the car and get closer to the crime scene. Nothing different since the last time we came, except for the bullet hole in a tree. I examine the tree. I look at the angle the bullet pierced the tree. It's slightly incline towards the right telling me that it was shot from the left. I call over Madeleine and I ask her to show me where she was when the bullet was shot. She points a location that couldn't have been in the line of sight of the shooter. The suspect was aiming for me. Does he think that I can crack the case? What is odd about the hole is that it seems to be in the perfect angle for splinters to have hit me. It's either a complete miss from his part or a very calculated shot. Maybe he was trying to scare me off? It was dark, maybe he just wanted to tag me. The injury could not heal in one night. He could be trying to know who is trying to catch him. I write the suspicions down in my phone and I keep looking.
Lucas- Lionel, I'm going to need you to try to get Yasmin's phone at the police station.
Lionel- Nothing some money can't do.

I pull Madeleine close.

Lucas- Take the others with you, go to the hotel and drop Lionel of to get his car. Then meet me up at his manor.

She nods and she is off. As soon as the car is departs, I start walking towards the manor.

A few minutes later, I arrive at the manor. A fence is blocking the path. A guard intercepts me.

Guard- Private property, get out of here.
Lucas- I'm detective Mires, I'm here to investigate a case.

I flash my badge.

Guard- Are you investigating the robbery? There are already some cops in the house.
Lucas- Montgomery wants this case solved as fast as possible, they called for an extra detective.

He opens the gates.

Madeleine

The drive was quiet, Vanessa and Lionel were in the backseat, gazing through the window. I was wondering if Lucas was going to do something dangerous at the mansion, I needed to hurry. I was going slightly over the speed limit. The others didn't know that I was going to meet Lucas at the manor. They think I'm just going to pick him up after he is done investigating the forest. We approach the hotel and everyone steps out of the car. Vanessa needed to clear her head and Jacob said he needed to work on something even thought he was on vacation. I step on the gas and I head towards the manor. I didn't realize that I was going so fast. I was more then a little bit above the speed limit. The second I realize it, it's too late. I hear a police siren behind me. I slightly loosen the upper part of my shirt to expose my breast. I am going to have to flirt my way out of this, again.

Lucas

The house was filled with cops and detectives, they were investigating the outside and the inside. There is a broken window. I discretely pass the crime scene and I head upstairs to wear I might find something useful. Yasmin was staying here because she couldn't pay rent. I open and close multiple door until I find something that could possibly look like Yasmin's room. After some searching, I open a door with a bright pink interior and stuffed animals on the bed. This was her room. I started digging through her stuff. I go through everything, something felt off. She has a desk with three drawers, one of the, seemed deeper then the others but seemed to be the same when I opened it. I empty the drawer and I knock on the flooring of the drawer. Just as I thought, there was a secret panel. It was a diary, a locked diary. I put the clothes back and I rush out her room. I slip the diary through my jacket pocket. As soon as it's done, I'm face to face with a cop.
