Hey y'all! I hope you are enjoying my story so far:) Please don't forget to COMMENT and VOTE!!!
Tonight's the night. We have been training since seven in the morning and working on our strength. We have told everyone their teams and my father convinced Chris to only make it so it was just me and Shawn. Melissa is fighting along side our father and a couple of good but still newbie hunters. The only reason it's just Shawn and I, is because we are basically the strongest beside our father and Chris. By the strongest male hunter, it would probably be Chris... but the strongest female hunter, is yours truly, the Ripper. I love referring myself to my nickname.. it makes me feel tough.
Melissa and I have left our team and decided to go for a walk. Melissa said she needed to talk to me about something important and I just wanted to see if I could find and squirrels or bunnies for target practice. My bow is firmly gripped in my hand with an arrow locked in it, just in case something were to pop out. In other words, if those mutts decide to pop out early, I'm ready with freshly sharped arrow that have been soaked in wolfs bane.
"So, Elsa?" Melissa asked, trying to get my attention as I walk through the trees, trying to listen out for anything suspicious.
"Hm?"
She hesitates for a long period of time before speaking. "Are you nervous?"
I knew that wasn't her real question but if I knew my sister, I knew not to press it. We are so much alike when it comes to opening up, but I am worse. Melissa is only afraid to open up when she knows it might upset someone else.
"No... I'm never nervous." I said flat out.
"I don't believe that. I believe that you are really nervous, but like always, you don't want to admit it." She said, even though she knows it's not true.
"Yeah, whatever floats your boat sis. Now can you please stop stalling and tell me why the hell you dragged me out here?" I demanded, irritated.
She gets really pale and looks like he is choking back what she wants to say. I didn't need to stare straight at her face to know what look she has on her face... and that look is terrified.
"I'mquittinghunting" she says way too fast for me to even hear.
"Alright, rewind and say that again but slower this time."
She takes the longest breath I have ever seen anyone take before and when she breaths out, I see her hands start to shake uncontrollably.
"Um.. I-I'm q-quiting uh... I'm quiting h-hunting." She mumbles so low that I almost didn't hear her. I paused everything I was doing and I felt like someone shot me.
"YOUR QUITING HUNTING?" I basically scream so loud that the birds in the trees went flying out.
"Shh! Keep you voice down!" She looks around hoping that we were far away from our camp site to hear my scream.
"What the HELL do you mean your quiting hunting? That is a sick joke!"
"It's not a joke, Elsa. After tonight, I'm hanging up my sword."
I stared at her like she had three heads and I wanted to hit her in the face for what she is saying.
"Are you forgetting that those things killed mom?"
"How can I forget when you, dad and Shawn remind every five minutes?" She was getting annoyed now, but I was just full blown pissed.
Before I had time to respond, a twig snapped and I raised my bow up and pulled the string back, only to have my bow pointed at my brothers face.
