Steeldust crept out onto the windowsill and looked around.
He was up quite a way, being on the third story of the warehouse.
Wind rushed past him, howling through the abandoned buildings around the place he now called home.
A roar of several engines above turned the youngling's attention from the ground below him. A grin spread across his faceplate as he watched a group of seeker's flying in formation.
Steeling himself, Steeldust carefully stood up on the windowsill, one hand clutching the side of the window casing for support.
Sticking out his glossa, he narrowed his optics, calculating how much force he'd have to put into this.
Taking a deep vent, he crouched, then jumped.
Before Steeldust could fall very far, he reached out and grabbed a hold of the nearby pipe. Jerking his freefalling short, he held on, staying still for a few astrokliks, optics wide.
Realizing he was good, he smirked, beginning to climb upwards.
Surely, there were easier ways to get to the roof.
But there were probably obstacles such as mecha wondering what he was doing if he asked or used the hatch leading to the roof.
Steeldust doubted he was really supposed to be up here.
Reaching the top, Steeldust grabbed the ridge and pulled himself the rest of the way up. Once fully on the flat rooftop, he straightened, doorwings twitching. His quick optics soon located the trio of seekers in the sky and he backed away from the edge to watch them.
For whatever reason, Steeldust found it fascinating.
Though not an actual trine, the three seekers in the gang could fly and probably fight like one.
From what Steeldust had gathered in his short time here, at least two of them had been seeker elite once, members of the Armada.
But he didn't know why they weren't now. Or why they'd chosen to come here.
Apparently, even though Jetstreak, Wingnut, and Arson no longer lived amongst their own kind, they still knew how to fly like them.
Steeldust was utterly amazed at some of the aerial acrobatics they pulled off. In sync with each other.
He wondered if a nonflier could perform similar feats on the ground.
Sitting down, Steeldust continued to watch the trio, but his thoughts changed.
He really was curious as to why the seekers weren't in Vos anymore.
"Arson and Jetstreak don't talk much, or at least not to me," he thought. "Maybe they don't like talking about it."
The youngling also got the feeling that they didn't like each other terribly either.
Or at least Jetstreak didn't.
The purple and red seeker was the tallest and oldest of the three seekers. He was a bit of a snob in Steeldust's opinion, but he tolerated the youngling's presence well enough.
But Jetstreak barely tolerated Wingnut. He seemed to be agreeable with Arson though.
However, Steeldust had to admit, that made sense.
"Arson is a bit more normal than Wingnut."
Steeldust frowned. "But Arson does live up to his name, normal as he might seem..."
