Jess ran a wet brush through her unruly curly hair, each brush seemed to inflict more frizz than reducing it. With a final slam of the brush on the bathroom counter, she slicked back her hair into a high ponytail and straightened it with small flicks. Her bathroom was clear with a dark oak and marble theme, and a tiled walk-in shower. She slipped on her cat outfit and used the ears to flatten the flyaway hairs she could see. Giving herself one last fleeting look in the mirror, she turned and left the room. Her house was spacious yet cosy, the leather armchairs adorned with cushions and throws of cream and grey. Grabbing her purse and keys, she left the house. Looking around in the crowded car park beneath the apartments she located her convertible and enter the driver's side.
She drove for around 20 minutes before parking in front of a largely illuminated night club. In front was a long queue of around 30 people in many wonderful costumes and makeup looks. When Jess spotted a group of girls wearing pink sashes and one had a small fluffy crown on her head. Jess exited the car and joined the group of girls.
'Yay! Jess I'm so glad you could make it!' Shouted an already drunk Katie, her brown hair in bouncy curls down her back.
'Yeah, are you drunk already, Katie?!' She replied looking at all of the hyper girls screaming at each other to be heard.
'Well-' Katie started before vomiting down the front of Jess' outfit.
'Katie! What the fuck!' Jess said hold her outfit as far of her body as she could.
'Omg jess I'm so sorry' Katie said with a nervous laugh.
'Ugh it fine, I'll go change one second, ok?' She said annoyed at there irresponsibility. Climbing into the back seat of her car she changed into a new outfit then hopped back out. The girls were near the front now, and a bit calmer. She rejoined them and entered the club after presenting her ID. Inside the music pounded against her ears, and the movement of many people at once gave the place a claustrophobic feel. She edged along with the group to the bar and order a round of champagne. The floor was filled with drunk dancers and did not seem appealing to Jess.
Sliding into a chair she watched her friends move away and have fun. Jess pulled out her phone and scrolled through the contacts, most were for work, like scouts and photographers or some of her fellow models and actors, however a few were from her childhood, she scrolled through,
'Mia.....Rihanna, wow it's been years since I saw them last!' She thought to herself.
Clicking the numbers to her disappointment they went through to voicemail.
'Of course they've changed their numbers in the last 15 years!' She thought rather stupidly.
She looked around to see a lightly rand man with short curly brown hair moving towards her with a small smile.
'Your by yourself?' He asks looking down at the empty table.
'Yeah my group went to dance but that's not really for me.' She replied, looking into his green eyes. Without another word he pulls out the chair and sits himself, drinking down on a bottle in his hand.
'I'm Klaus.' he says finally.
'Jess' she says mirroring his small smile.
The music seemed to disappear in the awkwardness of the table.Katie's hen party was rather boring except for the mystery man, Klaus. She laughed to herself as she drove down the dark streets until she reached her apartment block. Locking the car and entering the elevator she was closely followed by a tall hooded figure, suddenly he has a knife and is brandishing it threateningly towards her.
'Give me your purse and your key to that car outside!' The voice comes commanding and deep. He stands towering over her, his knife held tight. The elevator had not moved, and the car park was still in view. Pulling into the car park a long limousine, flashed it's light towards you and the hooded figure fled. The limousine pulled in front of you and the window slid down to reveal a familiar face. Klaus!'What are you doing here?' Her voice was shaky and choked by the tears pouring from her eyes.
Klaus stepped out of the vehicle and walked over to Jess.
'Shall we go for a ride?' He said indicating the limo.
'In that?!' She said surprise replacing her fear.
Klaus held her hand and guided her into the limo.
'My driver here noticed there was a wee bit of commotion in the lift there, said let's go have a look and then we find you.' he recounted as Jess was still shaking with fear. He noticed an looked her in the deep hazel orbs of her eyes.'Hey, it's ok your safe now.' He said holding her by the shoulders. He pulled her into a hug and soon Jess found herself falling asleep and this handsome stranger. When she awoke she was in an unknown home on a big luxurious bed. She sat up startled, as she noticed Klaus sitting in an armchair a few feet away. She looked around the handsomely decorated room as she looked up more seemed to appear.
'I brought you back here to my place,' he said indicting around himself 'your place was locked and I didn't want to rummage around in your pockets and purse when you were sleeping.'
'Oh ok, this place is huge!' She said as he laughed at her awed face.
'I'm glad you like it.' He replied with a grin.
