Chapter 4 - Planning and Similar Faces

Yami's POV

I rolled over, forgetting that I was on the couch, and rolled right off it onto the floor. The room was just so bright. I forgot what it feels like to sleep, it's a good feeling. But waking up on the other hand, that's torture. I got up off the floor and headed into the kitchen. I checked the clock. "10:30! It's already so late." I thought that Yugi would be down by now. It's kind of weird since Yugi would get up very early just to make breakfast for his grandfather. Maybe that is one of the things that's changed about him.

I didn't see Yugi's grandpa last night, I wonder where he is. I'm going to have to ask Yugi, so I'd better go wake him up. I walked up the stairs that lead to Yugi's room. They creaked on every step. I didn't want the stairs to wake him up, I wanted to do it.

I opened the door leading my eyes over to Yugi's bed. Yugi was scrunched up between the sheets and had bunched up all the covers around himself. I chuckled quietly at what I saw. Yugi was just too damn cute. I went over next to him, looking down at the curled up Yugi. I could hear him breathing quickly, was he not asleep? I used my hands to peel back some of the sheets over Yugi. His head felt a bit warm.

Yugi turned his head just enough to look at me with his large amethyst eyes. I cold see that Yugi had been sweating a bit. "Morning." Yugi said quietly with his voice shaking. I was a little worried. "What's wrong Yugi, do you have a fever?" I gently placed my hand on Yugi's forehead, he wasn't that warm. He was probably sweating from being covered in so many blankets. "I'll make breakfast, come downstairs soon." Yugi had a small smile on his face. "I'll be down in a bit." I smiled right back at him, walking downstairs to go make breakfast.

--- A little while earlier - Yugi's POV

I shook myself awake when the light came through my thick curtains. My heart started to speed up. Not now. I didn't want Yami to know about my condition yet, so I stayed silent. It hurt. I grabbed my sheets and tucked them all around me and gripped them tightly. The pain would go away eventually. I hoped it would end soon as I heard the stairs creak. I guess Yami was coming to wake me up. I tried to control my breathing.

I turned my head just enough to see Yami's face. God he is so handsome. I looked right at him, mustering enough strength to talk. "Morning." I said this quietly, my voice shaking. "What's wrong Yugi, do you have a fever?" Yami placed his hand on my sweating forehead, he looked at me concerned. "I'll make breakfast, come downstairs soon." I smiled a bit letting him know I was 'ok'. "I'll be down in a bit." I told this to Yami so he would leave for a minute so I could gather myself, and my thoughts. Yami smiled at me, then left closing the door. I could hear him go down the noticeably creaky steps.

I was shook out of my Yami trance as my heart started to speed up again. I clutched my shirt waiting for the pain to cease. I need to get medicine for it. I can't afford the treatment yet, but I can at least afford some medicine for the time being.

I was able to get out of my bed after the pain lessened. I took a quick shower and put on a casual outfit. I wore a dark purple tank top, along with some black skinny jeans. I didn't forget to put all of my accessories on or my studded boots. As soon as I had styled my hair, I went down the steps to see Yami in the kitchen.

"Good morning, little Yugi." Yami looked up from what he was doing. "Your making breakfast? I didn't know you could cook." He looked over at me shyly and nodded. "I can make simple things, or I try to. I can't really remember how to read Japanese. It was easier since I could read it through your eyes, but I can't seem to read some of it." I chuckled a bit, then walked over to Yami. "I could help you read, you know I'm the best at school." Yami turned a bit red, but handed me a box. "This says something about pancakes, right?" I laughed again, he turned a bit redder. "How about I help you with breakfast, then we talk?" I looked into his, oh so sexy, crimson eyes. He nodded and went to go sit at the table.
